As the Transport Manager based in the Netherlands, and initially responsible for depots in Amsterdam and Oud Gastel (and more in the future), you will be a fundamental part of our team, enabling us to continue with our mission to serve the planet, a purpose we care strongly about and are committed to.
With entrepreneurial spirit, you want to step in an ‘’all-around role’’ where you are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get involved in many different dares in a start-up like company. You are bringing experience in scheduling, coordinating, and overseeing logistic operations from your previous role(s). In this role you will be responsible for the fleet’s success of 5 Bunge Olleco drivers.
Moreover, you identify with our main value – ‘safety comes first!’ and are therefore willing to obtain (or have) a safety management certification. We will value your experience in the waste management industry to drive sales growth and efficiencies in your region as a big plus.
This is a unique opportunity for someone still at the beginning of their managerial experience to grow and consolidate their skills and comfort of operating in a complex business.
A little bit more about you:
- Dutch and English language knowledge;
- Ideally, you are located close to our office in Diemen (Verrijn Stuartweg 95, Diemen) and are willing to regularly travel to our other office in Oud Gastel (Standerdmolen 8a, Noord-Brabant);
- As a people manager you will develop your team, succession plan and increase employee engagement and retention. In this role you will have 2 direct reports to start with, but your scope will develop further as the company develops;
- Previous experience in transport, asset management and customer delivery ideally in the waste industry;
- Willingness to and experience in weekly reports, customers data and similar;
- Demonstrable experience of delivering results in a sales/logistics role.

A little bit more about the role:
- Drive growth by increasing Olleco Bunge’s market share in the Netherlands through organic growth;
- Develop and implement strong and efficient logistical processes to help improve efficiencies allowing the business to grow without constraint;
- Ensure we deliver the best possible service to our customers, helping the business provide an unrivalled customer experience in the region;
- Ensure that all costs, collection, delivery and haulage are minimized and that the depot is operating as efficiently as possible;
- Continue to develop the business to establish more barriers to entry through the use of USP’s;
- Increase and improve staff retention to minimize costs and support succession planning;
- Develop all management subordinates to assist with company succession planning;
- Support regional Sales Manager on all growth projects and work closely to develop a strong foundation for the future.
