Position Summary:

The primary role of the Reliability Excellence Planning Supervisor is to improve work force productivity and work quality by eliminating in advance potential delays and obstacles through proper planning of the required materials, procedures, and resources for maintenance work. This person is responsible for the planning of all maintenance work performed in the area to which he/she is assigned. He/she maintains appropriate records and files to permit meaningful analysis and reporting of results or completed work.


Under regular day to day guidance, the Reliability Excellence Planning Supervisor is responsible for implementing and managing the systems, maintenance organization structure, and processes necessary to achieve and sustain the reliability mission. Through their efforts, a proactive culture which fosters open communication and trust that values reliability, efficiency and effective life cycle asset management is achieved.


Core Functions:

  • Reviews and screens each work order to see that is has been properly filled out.
  • Develops and maintains planned and predictive maintenance procedures as required. Examines jobs to be completed and determines best way to accomplish the work.
  • Identifies and obtains (requisitions, orders, kits as appropriate and in keeping with procedures) materials, special tools and equipment necessary to complete the work.
  • Determines if critical items are in stock by verifying availability.
  • Estimates cost of each work order in terms of direct labor, materials required and total cost. Maintains backlog files of work orders waiting scheduling in accordance with their priority limits with an estimated completion date.
  • Develops a file of standard work orders (plans) for regularly recurring repair jobs, based on historical experience.Reviews with the maintenance area management the actual labor expended versus estimated labor and material used for completed jobs.
  • Conducts informal training as required of maintenance personnel regarding proper maintenance procedures and the use of any applicable maintenance software.
  • Reviews all completed work orders for completeness and accuracy, updating machinery history data in applicable maintenance system of record as required, and ensures bill of materials are up to date.
  • Understands the proper methods to be employed in replacing or maintaining typical mechanical equipment items. This includes, but is not limited to: Conveyors, belt and bucket elevators, flaking and cracking mills, pumps, grinders, food processing equipment.
  • Assists with controlling the budget to ensure that it provides for optimized spending to achieve the agreed-upon capacity and asset reliability.
  • Ensures Bunge standard reliability and maintenance work process are followed
  • Provides input to the Plant Reliability Excellence Manager to help with the development of succession plans, skills assessments and training.
  • Assists with maintaining critical spare parts, minimizing necessary inventory and automating materials requisition functions.
  • Periodically provides input for benchmarks current performance with internal and external sources to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Provides support in the Management of Change processes.
  • Supports the proper execution of the reliability strategy.\
  • Fosters a culture that does not tolerate equipment failures and seeks to understand and eliminate the causes using techniques such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Implements organizational structure, systems, tools and technologies that promote a proactive approach to maintenance


Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.  2 year vocational or technical degree preferred.                                                                                                                                                   
  • Minimum of 2+ years’ experience in reliability and maintenance positions required
  •  Adequate trade knowledge to estimate labor hours and materials and ability to visualize a job to completion.
  • Has the ability to read blueprints and shop drawings.
  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Prior experience with standard corporate maintenance workflow processes
  • Demonstrated experience with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or comparable system required, preferably experience in SAP Plant Maintenance and Materials Management Modules.
