POSITION PURPOSE: The primary function is to pay all employees accurately and timely. This position is responsible for Payroll transactions processing related to Zero to Gross component of payroll. The goal is to deliver high- quality and error free service to the organization. May serve as backup to Payroll Manager and serves as point of contact for higher-level, more advanced payroll processes based on experience. Partners with Payroll Manager and On-shore Payroll manager as needed for transition, training quality control and payroll processing as needed. This position serves as SME and escalation point for all payroll related activities for their assigned client(s).

 

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for ensuring all aspects of the payroll cycle, including time, holiday, benefits, garnishments, etc. are processed, reconciled, audited and transmitted accurately and timely
  • Processes timely and accurately the weekly / Bi-weekly/ Semi-monthly / monthly payrolls based on knowledge of company, labor contract, and state and federal labor regulations.
  • Processes, reviews, edits and corrects any transaction system errors, and performs various issues resolution for limited number of contracts / companies.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll impacting changes, tax forms, payments and payroll processing for assigned companies
  • Responsible for quality control and auditing to ensure accuracy and low error or defect percentage
  • Work with cross-functional internal partners to resolve payroll matters and employee inquiries
  • Establish and maintain a deep understanding of requirements and changing needs to ensure services delivered are as per contractual obligations and in accordance with SLAs.
  • Create, update and review standard operating procedures and performs quarterly document reviews
  • Manage client and consumer related tasks within the case management system ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and timely
  • Weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reconciliation at the employee level , Proactively manage quarter and year-end payroll auditing and processing
  • Think and act ahead, spot opportunities and act accordingly and proactively contribute to process improvements
  • Monitor escalations from all sources, perform research, resolve issues, correct emp. record in the system as needed, follows up with the updates / resolution, documents case updates / resolution in the system
  • Support transition from-on-shore locations to off-shore
  • Guide and monitor the team of payroll executives, coach, develop and provide feedback as needed, other duties, as assigned by your immediate supervisor and/or manager.

Responsibilities / Requirements:

  • Bachelors / Master’s degree (15-17 years of Education)
  • 5-8  years related experience in US multi-state payroll administration required in outsourcing context
  • 5 years related experience with 5,000+ Employees, multi-frequency payrolls, Multi-jurisdiction state tax, stock option processing,
  • Valid US B1 visa
  • SuccessFactors, ADP, eTime experience preferred
  • Reporting/payment requirements and changes, notice resolution, and penalty abatement
  • FPC Certification desirable
  • Subject Matter Expertise in federal, state, territory, local payroll, stock option exercise tax and reporting requirements
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks and set expectations for internal partners with competing priorities
  • Advanced skills in MS Excel to include V-Lookup, Pivot Tables, Macros, Proficiency with Excel, Access and Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced analytical and problem solving, excellent research and problem solving ability
  • Experience working in a case management system is preferred.

  • Team player, ability to handle multiple tasks and proficient typing/numerical data entry ability.
  • Knowledge of payroll wage and tax laws will be a plus
