Senior Consultant - SAP EDI

This position is based in Mohali, Punjab which is our Global Shared Service Center & will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, and supporting initiatives for Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) systems with integration to SAP ERP system. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that EDI-related production and procedures are properly executed, including development, change requests, and enterprise integration projects. The EDI Specialist will also act as liaison between end users and the responsible organization implementing EDI-based applications.

 

Essential Job Duties

  • Record new country EDI requirements and coordinate adjustments to existing relations or new developments with end users and responsible organization implementing EDI-based applications.
  • Participate in design and implementation of new applications and integration strategies of EDI
  • Complete day to day responsibility for EDI support
  • Develop standardized, repeatable processes for all development and deployment activities relating to EDI
  • Perform SAP ERP system configuration, mapping, and management for EDI-based transactions and processes
  • Troubleshoot and coordinate resolution of hardware and software problems
  • Document EDI procedures, landscape and profiles
  • Monitor and test system/data availability and provide statistics and reports

 

Education, qualification and special training

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related IT field or alternatively functional education combined with IT related experience
  • 2-3 years’ relevant IT experience with EDI
  • Working knowledge of industry EDI toolsets
  • Working knowledge of EDIFACT Language
  • 2-3 years’ experience with EDI in SAP ERP
  • Working knowledge with SAP IDOCs (IDOC architecture / configuration / monitoring) within module SAP SD

 

Experience, knowledge (technical knowledge)

  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals from various countries and vastly different cultures
  • Function effectively in a complex rapidly changing environment
  • Good understanding of information system architectures
  • Good experience in Microsoft Office Group, especially Excel and Access
  • Fluent in English and another European Language
