Main Accountabilities:

 

Safety Compliance Activities

 

  • Facilitate daily safety pre-start meetings and weekly safety toolbox talks.
  • Conduct monthly Safety Stop Work employee’s meetings.
  • Conduct monthly Environment Health and Safety site inspections to Bunbury Port Terminal, Arthur River and Kukerin sites
  • Ensuring compliances to production standards, procedures and identify issues or non-conformity.
  • Complete monthly Health and Safety Reports for Asia Safety Director and Australian management. 
  • Updating monthly Asian Safety Report
  • Manage Gmits online training system for Bunge employees, contractor’s online inductions.
  • Organise Emergency Evacuation drills for Bunbury, Arthur River and Kukerin sites. 
  • Assist Clinipath Drug and Alcohol testing contractor across all four Western Australian sites, contractors and operational teams.
  • Support and develop Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Policies and Procedures.
  • Review existing policies/ procedure measures and update according to legislation.
  • Conduct site risk assessments and enforce preventative measures.
  • Initiate and organise OHS training for employees and management.
  • Oversee any site operations and maintenance work is following Bunge policies, procedures and legislation.
  • Record and investigate incidents to determine causes and handle worker’s compensation claims (ARCA).
  • Finalising safety documentation and provide statistical information to Asian Safety Director and Australian management. 
  • Providing technical support and coaching to Bunge management team in areas including but not limited to: safety leadership, coaching, training, legislative compliance, risk assessment, incident investigation (ARCA), employee Health and Safety communications.
  • Inspect and report all Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirement needs. 
  • Supply yearly Safety Report for Asia Safety Director and Australian management team.
  • Safety leadership and active participation in development of Health and Safety strategic initiatives to achieve the desired safety culture and sustained improvements in Health and Safety performance.

 

Policies and Procedures

 

  • Yearly Bunge policy and procedure review and updates.
  • Review and update Bunge Document Register Australia.
  • Writing new operational procedures.
  • Ongoing review and updates of policies and procedures.

 

Training and Assessment

 

  • Port terminal control room training in SAC Bulkmetrix bulk handling system including commodity transfers, in-loading, out-loading, and internal grain transfers.
  • Terminal silo operations e.g. silo auguring, Port terminal hygiene.
  • Pre-Harvest employee training.
  • Tarping training, reviewing and updating Bunge tarping procedure.
  • Grain Bunker operations and procedure knowledge.
  • Fumigation knowledge and training in grain silos and bunkers.
  • Machinery and equipment Verification of Competency (VOC).
  • Updating Bunge employee Training Matrix.

 

Knowledge and Technical Competencies :

 

  • C Class driver license
  • Knowledge in IAuditor Safety Inspection Software.
  • Cert IV Work Health and Safety certificate
  • Safety Representative training
  • Training in Apollo Root Cause Analysis.
  • Understanding of internal policies and procedures 
  • High Risk training include Forklift, Dogman
  • Lock Out Tag Out ticket 
  • Confined Space ticket
  • Telehandler Ticket
  • Experience in Bulkmetrix commodity management system in all aspects of export shipping, internal commodity transfers will be highly regarded

 

Education/Experience :

 

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety Management programs, operational, or manufacturing environment.
  • Facilitate compliance with Occupational Health and Safety guidelines.
  • Demonstrate knowledge, understanding of Health and Safety legislation and its application.
  • Excellent computer proficiency (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • High level of interpersonal skills, including assertiveness, communication and time management.
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Highly organised and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Experience in safety leadership coaching and mentoring.
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform Bunge terminal operations.
  • Adhere to Western Australian road rules and Bunge Vehicle Use Procedure. 
  • To be physically fit.
