Position Summary

The primary function is to purchase and market soybeans and our soybean products from farmers, elevators and producers. This position is also responsible for the coordination of rail, barge, and truck logistics.

 Core Functions:

  • Procure soybeans from farmers and elevators.
  • Under minimal supervision, merchandise grain to maximize profitability of trading activities.
  • Manage rail, barge, and truck logistics.
  • Service customers in areas of market information, e-business, bids, hours, grade reporting and accounting issues.
  • Evaluate and report changing crop and market conditions to appropriate company personnel in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays when required.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, General Business, Finance or up to 4 years education in a comparable discipline required
  • Prior education or experience in business, economics, agriculture, or commodity trading with demonstrated analytical aptitude
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and CBOT.
  • Sales knowledge and negotiations skills.
  • Excellent communications skills are a must.
  • Good computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Timelines and accuracy are critical.
  • Ability to learn and apply knowledge quickly.
