Overview:
The person in this role is responsible for assisting users having difficulties with their computer, participating in the maintenance of our fleet of laptops and desktops, and supporting various IT systems utilized by our facilities.  With a focus on supporting our Channahon, IL facility, the person in this role will also collaborate with the larger North America IT Support team participating in support and department projects. There may be travel on occasion, but the majority of support services are performed at our Channahon facility and are handled either in person, by phone, or via remote control.

 

Essential Functions:
Provisioning, deployment, and de-provisioning of computers and related accessories
Assisting users via email, chat, and phone
Provide support coverage during business hours as well as after hours on a rotating schedule
iPhone/iPad support in a corporate environment
Assist in developing and formalization of current and future processes
Participation in meeting department goals
Participation in desk moves as well as hardware and software deployments
Ensure requests for service are handled on a timely basis, while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction
Help to drive improvements in support effectiveness though greater automation of tasks and better monitoring of systems
Create/update documentation for internal support processes as well as end-user documentation
Participate in our Asset Management processes to ensure computers are well managed throughout their life-cycle
Able to analyze gaps in current processes and systems.  Select, develop and evaluate potential solutions when requested

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:
Appropriate levels of technical certifications and relevant technical experience will be weighed equally
Minimum of 1 year Support Desk experience
Able to troubleshoot and resolve issues, which can often be complex
Basic knowledge of TCP/IP and common network technologies
Must be able to consistently follow procedures and processes
Able to create and maintain documentation that can be used by others
Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism when working with customers up to and including executives
Must be able to perform well under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks
Ability to effectively support Windows 10 and Microsoft Office
Skilled in deploying and troubleshooting a variety of hardware from network printers to laptops and accessories.
Ability to learn and support certain facility-based equipment that fall under the care of IT Support.
Capable of self-managing their responsibility for assignments with little supervision
Able to complete tasks on-time, and report conflicting priorities - even if extra hours are required on occasion
