Overview

As a participant in Bunge’s Accounting Rotation Program, the Accountant will perform and coordinate accounting processes according to GAAP, regulatory requirements, and industry practices.  This will include recording journal entries, management reports and analyzing account balances.  The Accountant will also assist with the implementation and execution of sound internal control procedures.

 

Essential Functions

  • Fully participate in and support a timely and accurate monthly closing process, including preparing journal entries, performing reconciliations, and completing supporting schedules
    • Prepare and analyze mark-to-market calculations and journal entries
    • Analyze accounting results versus commercial estimates and identify, explain and communicate variances with management
    • Reconcile and analyze balance sheet accounts
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting packages
  • Generate applicable analysis and reports to divisional, regional, and location management to provide clarity, understanding and explanations of monthly financial results (EBIT, Margins, Inventory Adjustments, etc.)
  • Other job duties as assigned

 

Skills / Experience Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related business degree
  • 0 to 3 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate with cross functional teams
  • Experience with SAP or similar Enterprise software is highly desirable
  • Self-starter with strong time management skill with the ability to work within a team environment
  • Overtime required during month end close
