This Accountant II position will be responsible for the accounting duties for the monthly accounting for milling facilities.  This position will be responsible for the monthly accounting, including inventory reconciliation and valuation, yield computations, general ledger entries/maintenance, SOX control adherence, and researching/explaining margin variances and industrial expense variances to the estimate.  This would include working directly with plant operations and commercial managers.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as a single point of contact to the assigned facilities to support all aspects of the facilities financial statements, internal controls, and management reports
  • Maintain the general ledger and journal entries, including account analysis and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Maintain internal controls and ensure procedures and processes are followed
  • Month end close responsibilities – inventory reconciliation & valuation, yield reconciliation, industrial expense accruals, etc.
  • Assist in internal and external audits
  • Other duties and Projects as assigned


  • Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required
  • 1 - 3 years of experience preferred with strong understanding of commodity accounting, cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), preferred.
  • Good communication skills to work effectively with local and division management
  • Travel to facilities for additional support and training (~10-15%)

    • Proficient application of management and internal controls (SOX, COSO)
    • SAP FICO core competency and/or SAP SD / GTM preferred
    • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
