Position Summary:

Bunge is looking to add a Legal Counsel – Transactional North America to support our North American businesses across their various value chains. From our Chesterfield, Missouri headquarters, you would join a global legal team that works with business partners across our globally integrated company. with a focus on activities in North America.

 

Core Functions:

Your primary responsibility would be to advise and support our business partners across an incredible variety of business and legal areas, including:

  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising internal clients regarding a wide range of commercial contracts for business units in North America, including supply agreements, equipment purchase agreements, consulting agreements, services agreements, and confidentiality agreements
  • Drafting, reviewing, negotiating and advising internal clients regarding a wide range of commercial contracts for support functions in North America and around the world, including for Procurement, Compliance, Audit and Tax functions
  • Overseeing the work flow through Bunge’s new contract management system
  • Responding to and addressing legal issues arising out of regulatory matters, facility needs, customer complaints, etc. for business units in North America and support functions in North America and around the world

 

As a full-service, global in-house legal department, there are a host of related legal functions and competencies where you could supplement your core duties, including:

  • Working on mergers and acquisitions, facility construction projects, and joint venture transactions throughout the world;
  • Assisting with corporate reorganizations and entity management;
  • Supporting customs compliance and trade teams regarding global transactions;
  • Advising regarding data privacy issues;
  • Supporting R&D and marketing teams with intellectual property needs;
  • Handling real estate acquisitions and divestitures; and
  • Supporting sustainability efforts across the globe.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Law degree
  • At least 5-8 years of being responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial agreements;
  • A combination of in-house and law firm experience is a plus, but training at a law firm is also excellent if you have had hands-on opportunities to work with clients;
  • An ability to manage projects and various stakeholders
