Position Summary:
The Global Derivatives Compliance Director will lead a team of compliance professionals to oversee the company’s global derivatives trading compliance program and our derivatives compliance policy. The Director will play a key role in developing, implementing and managing the company’s compliance strategies and initiatives by providing leadership and collaborating with members of the Global Trading / Derivatives Compliance team and other stakeholders to help ensure that Bunge’s operations are conducted in a manner that upholds Bunge’s commitment to integrity and compliance with laws.

 

The position requires the director to coordinate the program globally with a variety of stakeholders and senior leaders within the organization.
 

The position involves responsibilities for interactions with regulators and banking partners, project management of compliance initiatives such as regulatory implementation projects, regulatory analysis and planning, supervision projects and technical data projects or audit reviews.

 

The role is highly visible within Bunge globally and interaction with management, senior financial or operational employees is key. Regular reporting of information to the company’s enterprise risk management committee of the Board may also occur.

 

Core Functions:

  • Supports the Deputy GC CCO in the development, oversight and monitoring of the implementation of Bunge’s derivatives / trading compliance programs and controls, including revising the program in light of changes in the needs of the organization and in laws and regulations impacting Bunge.
  • Develops, coordinates, delivers and participates in a multifaceted educational and training program that focuses on the key elements of the Trading policy, as well as risk management and seeks to ensure that employees and management are knowledgeable regarding the company’s compliance resources and pertinent policies and standards. Maintain compliance manuals and procedures.
  • Manages regional team members including performance reviews. Establish goals and objectives and ensure career development opportunities. Collaborates with other departments to direct compliance issues to appropriate existing channels as appropriate. Consults with Legal Department as needed to address and resolve legal issues. Prepares regular reports for senior management and enterprise risk management committee of the Board on the operation and progress of compliance efforts.
  • Manage comprehensive internal surveillance programs. Conducts and oversees internal reviews and compliance examinations. Ensure the team responds to regulators or bank inquiries, any reports of problems, complaints or suspected violations. Advises and assists in documenting resulting corrective actions. Ensures proper reporting of violations or potential violations to duly authorized enforcement agencies as appropriate and / or required.
  • Coordinate any interaction with relevant regulators and exchanges. Respond to regulatory inquiries and manage associated audit, arbitration and litigation processes.

 

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor Degree required
  • Preferred Graduate Degree in Law, accounting or finance
  • Minimum of 10 years experience in compliance, legal, audit or risk field
  • Experience in coordinating with global regulators; CFTC, CME group exchanges, ICE group exchanges, MGEX, etc. is a plus
