Export Trade Administration Analyst

Position Summary:

This position will be responsible for overseeing export contract administration and assisting with export logistics.

  • Close interaction with commodity traders, commercial teams, logistics, and financial teams.
  • Participate in barge applications for the desks, support barge logistics activities:
    • Ensure barge billings are correctly entered and provided through the string
    • Ensure BDT systems are updated routinely, timely, and correctly
    • Contact barge lines for barge movement updates and expected arrival times
    • Work with traders, logistics, and barge lines to optimize changes to barge destinations 
  • Oversee contract administration functions for the export desks.
  • Ensure commodity positions and P&L are correctly reported. 
  • Update new trades, pricings, amendments, into execution settlements.
    • Enter all the pricings in the cash sales and purchase contracts.
    • Control all the exchange of futures are correctly done.
    • Account for grain positions in a timely manner.

 

Core Functions:

  • Engage in the barge application processes for the desks, and optimize logistics and contracts
    • Ensure barge billings are correctly entered and provided through the string
    • Ensure BDT systems are updated routinely, timely, and correctly
    • Contact barge lines for barge movement updates and expected arrival times
    • Work with traders, logistics, and barge lines to optimize changes to barge destinations 
  • Responsible for overseeing accurate reporting of export positions and P&L.
  • Establish and implement daily, weekly, and monthly reconciliation and transaction controls.
  • Lead the response to audit inquiries and ensure correct accounting practices are followed.
  • Document standard operating procedures and work instructions for business continuity and standardization.
  • Prepare and monitor position details and supporting reports (cash trades, futures, and others).
  • Manage the life of a contract from initial entry, to pricings, amendments, fills, and settlements.
  • Support traders in the management of barge pipelines, including applications and reconciliations.
  • Liaise with the accounting department on expense accruals and reconcile variances at month end.
  • Promptly resolve barge quantity and pricing discrepancies to expedite cash settlement.
  • Follow up with the Execution department on vessel nominations and application of contracts.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • 3+ years of accounting experience or related grain handling experience
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries
  • Strong analytical skills  
  • SAP GTM knowledge
