Position Summary:

Plan and implement sales, marketing and product development programs, both short and long term, targeted toward developing the North American market and global flows for value-added lecithin and specialty ingredients

 

Core Functions:

  • Create, implement, and regularly update the regional North American strategic plan for sunflower and rapeseed (softseeds) lecithin to achieve short and long term sales and profitability (identify market drivers and trends, regulatory changes, competitive environment, etc.), in the food, feed, industrial, nutraceutical, pharmaceutical, and cosmetics industries
  • Identify target customers in niche markets and sales channels. Prioritizes and sets individual account strategies to penetrate key accounts
  • Launches new products / applications in conjunction with R&D, product management, and marketing
  • Monitor competitor products, sales, and marketing activities
  • Designs and implements regional softseed pricing strategy in coordination with global and regional product management and pricing team based on competitive pricing analysis
  • Set annual regional North American softseed lecithin sales targets by segment in coordination with BEMEA and local marketing, sales, and product management teams
  • Prepare periodic sales and customer visit reports showing sales volume and potential sales opportunities
  • Actively manage a new opportunity pipeline to continually grow the business
  • Identify development / training opportunities and needs for self and sales team to better serve the market
  • Execution follow-up: Ensure timely shipping and delivery of customer orders
  • Develop and manage detailed sales forecasts including volume by product and customer, sales price, gross margin, and gross profit and achieve targets in selected region(s)
  • Review and analyse sales performances against plan and determine improvement actions
  • Represent the B2B organization at trade association meetings and industry shows to promote softseed lecithin

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical, Marketing or Business (plus Masters or technical degree)
  • 15 years sales experience. Knowledge of Human Nutrition a plus
  • Strategy and marketing development and implementation experience
  • Strong customer development and relationship management skills
  • Technical knowledge of Lecithin and it’s applications
  • Lecithin and specialty ingredients customer relationships
  • Effective lecithin and specialty ingredients sales skills to upsell specialty ingredients products and services
  • Market intelligence analysis capability to drive specialty ingredients pricing strategies in different industries
  • Customer service focus / experience
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, listening and writing)
