Position Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is a key member of the Business and Administrative Service Strategic Sourcing team.  This team is a global team focused on building strong relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to drive sustainable cost reduction in SG&A spend. The Specialist will collaborate with Bunge coworkers to develop solutions and contracts that will provide the best total cost solution to enable the business to achieve its goals.  The Specialist must effectively communicate with team members and internal partners, both in operations and corporate functions, from administrative assistants through executives.  He or She will work with the Sourcing Manager(s) on complex projects, providing insight and assisting in development and analysis activities.  In this role, the Specialist will collaborate with internal stakeholders to define clear requirements, source to fill these requirements and finalize the contracts needed meet these needs while protecting Bunge’s interests.  In addition to supporting team members, the Specialist will develop category plans for assigned subcategories.

 

Core Functions:

  • Participate in developing, communicating, and implementing sourcing strategies
  • Actively participate in global or regional initiatives and assist with the implementation of global or regional program/strategy where appropriate
  • Assist with the negotiation and/or management of regional/global supply agreements
  • Work with the analytics tools and team and tools to evaluate spend data and identify trends
  • Lead sourcing initiatives in assigned subcategories.  Prepare RFI’s and RFP’s using e-sourcing tools (SAP). Analyze bids; and make recommendations on supplier selection
  • Develop, calculate, and document savings and cost avoidances
  • Manage and track spend and contracts in assigned subcategories to ensure compliance to strategic procurement programs
  • Identify and implement opportunities to streamline the ordering process, including using catalog and marketplace tools.
  • Contribute to the management of preferred suppliers, including measuring/ monitoring performance and resolving issues
  • Participate in other Procurement programs and strategy sessions as required
  • Collaborate with tactical buyers as needed to implement contracts or include plant spend in category plans

 

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business, or a related field
  • Three + years of proven experience in enterprise level procurement and sourcing, preferably related to facility services.
  • Experience working collaboratively with individuals and groups from a wide variety of backgrounds and organization levels, to incorporate their ideas, adapt to their needs, and to form consensus in appropriate situations
  • Demonstrated knowledge and expertise using various proven negotiation methods and the ability to critically analyze a negotiation
  • Sound multi-tasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects, requiring frequent communication, organization/time management and problem-solving skills
  • Expertise in Excel, proficiency in the Office Cloud suite, experience in SAP or other sourcing and contract management tools
  • Familiarity with contract development and negotiation, including coordination with Legal
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to work independently or in a team environment with attention to detail and excellent follow-through on action items

  • Support and actively participate in safety programs and initiatives and follow all safe work practices
