Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for managing all supply chain aspects of the North American McDonald’s account including overseeing oil flow management, transportation management, production scheduling, inventory management, and strategic project work. This position will report directly to the Senior Supply Chain Manager and will be based out of Chesterfield, Missouri.


Core Functions:

  • Oversee the day to day activities for the North American Supply Chain team in regards to the McDonald’s account.
  • Leads a team of direct/indirect reports to provide direction and leadership for goal-setting and performance measurement.
  • Manage process to drive improvement in domestic and North American KPI metrics.
  • Manage the oil flow process through complex and in-depth analysis to make sure that production facilities have optimal oil inventory levels in order to meet demand plans.
  • Collaborate with key transportation teams as it pertains to railcar and truck demand in order to deliver superior service to McDonald’s system (inbound and outbound).
  • Collaborate with Operations to make sure that production scheduling and inventory levels are maintained and in alignment with inbound oil supply and operational capabilities.
  • Lead resolution process for any discrepancies between supply capabilities and expected demand.
  • Lead strategic initiatives, which vary in complexity, to establish or upgrade systems and processes in support of “best in class” supply chain management.
  • Develop and maintain strategies to optimize cost, service, and synergies to ensure successful execution of strategies.
  • Understand the impact of future events such as (pricing, promotional events, new product launches, etc.) and the impact on the future supply needs.
  • Collaborate with key internal groups such as Sales, Marketing, R&D, QA, Customer Service, Transportation, and Operations to understand key drivers that create inefficiencies and to minimize / eliminate them with process changes.
  • Be an integral member of the IBP Supply process with specific focus on key opportunities or challenges that occur that could affect the McDonald’s system.
  • Manage daily /weekly/monthly reporting and meetings as necessary to manage the business with a focus on flawless execution.


Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Statistics/Mathematics, Operations Research, Agriculture Economics, or related business discipline required.  Advanced degree is a plus.
  • 10+ years related experience with a proven track record in supply chain value.
  • 5+ years related experience working with McDonald’s in a Supply Chain, Operations, or related business discipline would be a plus.
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain and operational functions such as (demand planning, production planning, forecasting, truck and rail logistics, supply chain optimization processes, etc.)
  • Proven, effective analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Strong MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills as well as experience with reporting tools such as Tableau and BW
  • Ability to work collaboratively across multiple functions and departments within the organization
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and multi task
  • Ability to work with ambiguity
  • Motivated self-starter who is organized, efficient and team- oriented
