Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Coordinator will drive continuous improvement in logistics operations with a focus on truck pricing for our package and refinery shipments.

 

Core Functions:

  • Negotiate rates to enable the delivery of products to the destination at the best cost for the business unit
  • Maintain and administer accurate carrier rate agreements in Rate Server
  • Analyze Freight Variance Report and correct issues with Customer Service, Sales, Pricing, and Contract Team to maintain profitable freight revenue
  • Work with operations and implement the optimized route guides to lead strategic cost reduction plans across the logistics supply chain
  • Identify and correct issues with freight accrual and expense variances in BPOpen
  • Maintain Truck P&L demonstrating opportunities for improvement in pricing
  • Administer freight rate quotes to support administration, sales and supply chain
  • Maintain a working knowledge of federal rules and regulations that apply to shippers and motor carriers to ensure we are compliant
  • Analyze and distribute reports from SAP, Tableau, and Rate Server as required
  • Power user to train plant personnel on new processes and procedures related to all systems

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • College degree
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in related field
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and multi task
  • Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision
  • Competency in Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point
  • Possess strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem solving skills, with the drive to create data-driven business solutions and improve processes in the transportation and logistics areas. 
  • Experience in an ERP, Rate or TMS system is preferred
