The Human Resources Coordinator performs professional level HR generalist and business partner work to develop, implement, and administer human resources policies, programs, and procedures at Bunge’s Decatur, IN soybean processing plant.  These activities will be completed under moderate supervision and guidance from the regional human resources manager.  The HR coordinator is the first line of HR support for facility management and employees. Responsible for performing tactical activities that support employee and labor relations.  This is an ideal opportunity for a person who is newly graduated from university who is interested in gaining HR generalist experience.

                        

Core Functions:

  • Champion and support personal safety and champion Bunge’s robust safety culture.
  • Support facility management and regional HR manager as directed.
  • Assist supervisors and managers in answering employee questions.
  • Assist employees with questions related to the collective bargaining agreement, payroll and benefits.
  • Responsible for ensuring HR compliance activities are completed timely and accurately.
  • Maintain and track key HR data for plant manager and HR team.
  • Maintain all employee files and HR filing systems.
  • Responsible for inputting data into the HR database, including status changes, disability/leaves, terminations, IT access, etc.
  • With the assistance and direction of regional HR manager assume responsibility for hourly employee recruiting activities including but not limited to candidate selection and onboarding.
  • Prepare and process new hire, transfer and termination documentation, including but not limited to requisitions, E-verify, etc.
  • Facilitate new hire onboarding training and other training as directed.
  • Complete monthly HR metrics data
  • As directed, assist collective bargaining agreement negotiations.
  • As directed, assist in responding to grievances, mediations, and arbitrations.
  • Participate in labor/management meetings.
  • Assist with special projects and initiatives.
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • B.S. Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field is required.
  • 1 year or less HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a Union environment or HR generalist internship experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong problem solving, coaching and facilitation skills required.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
