The Human Resources Coordinator assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the human resources functions and duties.  The position contributes to the foundation of effective HR processes and directly impacts the overall effectiveness of the department.  This individual will be a safety leader setting the highest example supporting a safe work culture and environment.

 

Essential Functions:

Safety

  • Promote safety by driving a zero incident culture ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Be an effective safety leader engaging in Bunge safety discussions and initiatives.
  • Maintain supplies for uniforms for employees and visitors.
  • Maintains the OSHA 300 log.
  • Completes Alabama First Report of Injury.
  • Maintains workers compensation files and communicates with third party administrators as needed

 

Human Resources

  • Perform payroll functions and personnel changes in HRIS system
  • Coordinate the recruiting and onboarding process for all hourly employees, including posting jobs, phone screening, coordinating interviews, new hire orientation, etc.
  • Maintain Human Resources internal bulletin boards
  • Ensure accurate maintenance of employee records.
  • Point of contact for employees regarding payroll issues, benefits, FMLA, etc.

 

Misc.

  • Assist in coordination of all company sponsored events, meetings, and training sessions
  • Issues all contracts on contractors including time and material projects.
  • Proactively support the Main office, Crush, & Refinery staff with visitors, meetings, travel, and other office systems.  
  • Prepare and timely submit reports as requested by various departments.
  • Process payments for HR related products or services.  i.e. donations, marketing supplies, etc.

  • Ensure compliance to all Bunge policies for internal and external visitors regarding safety, GMP and other polices when entering the facility. 
  • Has the responsibility to report all food safety and quality issues to persons having authority to get issues resolved. 
  • Perform other duties as assigned  

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • BA/BS in Human Resources or related field or additional experience in lieu of degree; or 2 -5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Qualification or certification in HR field (e.g. PHR) or equivalent a plus
  • Ability to identify and deal with sensitive and confidential matters with a high level of discretion.
  • Aptitude for financial data and proficient with spreadsheets.
  • Sound analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Interested in process improvement and efficiencies.
  • Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PP), Lotus Notes, and other technical software applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to learn, prioritize, and multitask in a fast paced changing environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively on teams with other internal and external personnel to the facility.
