Position Summary:

Responsible for functionally leading regional operations within Bunge North America (BNA) Grain. Train, motivate, and develop employees and managers in safety and operational procedures. Oversee safety programs and ensure compliance with BNA safety and operational policies and procedures as well as with all federal and state requirements. Provide leadership and guidance to Grain elevator management and employees in pursuit of a zero incident culture and operational excellence.

 

Core Functions:

Collaborate with corporate and regional safety management to plan, direct and implement organization safety programs to ensure a safe, healthy and zero-incident work environment.

Direct all functions of operations across multiple assigned elevators to ensure employees adhere to proper safe work practices and maintenance programs.

Oversee and ensures proper Grain Quality Management Programs are in place, including maintaining acceptable quality as well as maximizing blending opportunities and overall financial performance.

Provides input and oversight on daily operational expenses for assigned elevators.

Drive operational excellence, safety improvement, and other continuous improvement programs for the assigned elevators.

Ensure best practice through development of comprehensive operating and safety plans, monitoring and assisting in the achievement of financial and business goals.

Participate in the development of the Cap Ex and long term strategic plans and oversees all major projects to ensure targets are met.

Provide oversight to tracking all financial aspects associated with Cap Ex projects to ensure they are within budget.

Monitor safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state and federal rules and regulations.

Implement safety programs to train managers and employees in work site safety and operational practices, including annual safety plans and ongoing plans to eliminate high potential exposures.

Track injuries and equipment damage events and provide guidance on investigation and prevention of recurrence of incidents.

Up to 60% regional travel

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Operations Management or related field or equivalent work experience required.

4 to 7 years of safety and/or operations management experience required.

Prior experience in elevator operations and/or grain handling required.

Multi-site experience preferred.

Project management experience required.

Demonstrated experience with improvements in safety, productivity, and teamwork required.

Strong teamwork, safety, and leadership skills required.

Ability to energize and motivate diverse teams required.

Excellent verbal and written communications skills required.

Exceptional people management skills with a record of developing staff required.

Ability to lead continuous improvement in operations and service levels required.

Understanding of the financial drivers of the business required.

Ability to collaborate and interact across all levels of the organization required.

Demonstrated ability to analyze complex situations and make timely decision required.

Proficient with basic computer skills, including email, Excel, Microsoft

Word, and other technical software packages required.
