Position Summary:

Purchase and arrange delivery of Oilseeds (Canola and Specialty Canola) from growers or trade accounts at attractive basis levels to the Bunge facilities while ensuring continuous supply for uninterrupted production. Provide leadership to the Grain origination team to ensure constant superior customer service is provided. Offer expertise and knowledge as part of the leadership team at the Fort Saskatchewan crush facility.

 

Core Functions:

  • Manage purchases and deliveries of Oilseeds to meet crush plan at Fort Saskatchewan Crushing facility
  • Manage Canola Meal sales and logistics at Fort Saskatchewan Crushing facility
  • Purchase oilseeds to supply Fort Saskatchewan crush plant at the lowest possible basis level while maintaining customer farmer focus.
  • Sell Canola Meal and Canola Pellets at best possible basis levels while maintaining relationships with meal /pellet customers
  • Purchase off grade oilseeds
  • Facilitate crush planning - timing of canola vs. special crushes
  • Ensure grower/trade hedges are reported to hedge desk, for seed and meal
  • Ensure continuous supply of seed for uninterrupted crush
  • Ensure continuous truck shipments of meal / pellets to compliment rail shipments for uninterrupted crush
  • Provide Leadership and oversee the grain department
  • Ensure staff acts in a safe manner at all times
  • Ensure staff provides exceptional customer service at all times
  • Promote IP production contracts with growers for Identity Preserved specialty oilseeds
  • Communicate with other supervisors and managers on a regular basis to provide up to date information on seed supply and seed stocks, meal supplies and product flows
  • Assign and work on special projects as required
  • Perform any other related duties as required

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Agriculture or Commerce (major/minor in Marketing) is preferred.
  • General knowledge of commodity futures trading.
  • Three to five years’ experience in cash trading of commodities.
  • Understanding of both Canadian and US Ag Commodities.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of the Ag biotech area and agricultural production.
  • Cross-border mobility
