What we do in Walter Rau Lebensmittelwerke (Walter Rau Food Factories)

 

Located in Hilter in the Teutoburg Forrest we built a tradition of more than 110 years as a producer of high-quality margarine products, edible fats and oils. With an extensive product range, we supply food retailers, large-scale consumers, specialized wholesale traders as well as industrial processing plants. You might know us from brands such as Deli Reform, Landkost, Cremana, Optima and Butasan.

What the role is about
 

The Warehouse Manager is responsible to run and Continuously Improve all warehouse-processes and manage a team of around 30 people with support of 5 shift supervisors and area coordinators. Typically you see yourself as someone that starts the day energized, ready to inspire and coach your broader team to, on a day to day basis run smooth operations. From internal logistics, to material management and continuous improvement of processes. Even though our facility is technologically highly equipped, typical chances for optimization lie in the field of optimizing efficiency, cost, technology and productivity. Most importantly, your role will be to ensure a zero incident and injury mentality in the warehouse. Putting safety ahead of profit, staying alert to HPE’s. STOP.THINK.PROTECT, is our motto. Stop work and speak up whenever conditions or behavior become unsafe, is the ground rule in all our operations and you are the core promoter.

Key Interfaces and KPI’s
 

  • Internally: Transport management, Customer Service, Sales, Production, the Technical Department, Production Planning, Quality Assurance and the SAP-Team.
  • Externally: you work with Forwarders and Suppliers. And as a manager you are also the point of contact for local authorities requirements regarding safety and permits.
  • KPI’s you can think of are: Perfect Order fulfillment (POF), Safety reporting in terms of Stop Work Stories, Risky Conditions (RC), Job Hazard analysis (JHA), Near Misses (NM). Industrial accidents, Overall Equipment Effectiveness) OEE (for palletizing-issues)
     

What to bring to the role

 

  • Good SAP and MS Office skills (in particular Excel + PowerPoint)
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and German
  • A Bachelor or Master degree

In this role we need a people motivator. A reliable, empathic leader with detailed knowledge of warehouse management in an FMCG environment. Knowing about the perks and challenges of fast order delivery operations, you can demonstrate established improvement initiatives, including budget responsibility. You bring a good knowledge of safety and hygiene rules, and enjoy to train and develop others. Decisions you make based on data and good analysis and accuracy is important to you.
