For our hyper modern edible oils plant in Europe we are currently offering the role of:

 

Plant Manager Rotterdam (Maasvlakte)

 

As our new Plant Manager, you will be heading daily Industrial Operations of the plant with over 80 employees (full responsibility & accountability). Our production facility is in a major transition over the next 3 to 4 years, which brings great challenges and opportunities for now and in the future after the transition.

 

“In November 2020, Bunge Loders Croklaan announced the sale of its refinery plant in Rotterdam. Bunge is reinvesting and optimizing its European footprint by building an innovative and sustainable multi-oil greenfield plant that should be operational end of 2024.”

 

The core of this role is to use to safeguard the team through these challenges and use your outstanding communication skills to build and maintain a close community.

 

The role

 

As the Plant Manager you are responsible & accountable for People, Asset, Environmental and Product Safety in Rotterdam.   

You plan, organize, coordinate and control all Industrial Operational activities in order to contribute best to the Bunge Loders Croklaan growth plans, strategies and business performance. You will be an active driver for any further integration of Industrial Operation functions, structures, processes and organizations such as material planning/disposition, production, warehousing/logistics, engineering/maintenance, QA and Safety across the Supply Chain. 
  

Having the responsibility for overall Industrial Operations performance includes optimization according agreed business targets and long-term, medium and short-term improvement of the production assets and all related efficiencies/costs of the entire supply chain to costumer. You ensure that all product and process development activities in Rotterdam are in line with legal requirements, local & regional laws and regulations, market requirements and overall Bunge B2B/ EMEA strategies. As an active driver of analysis and development of competitive state of the art structures, processes and sourcing strategies to produce all our (edible) oils portfolio in a highly efficient way, you will leverage Industrial Operations and Supply Chain structures, processes and results to the best of EMEA. In order to do this optimally you are able to build strong relationships across the organization and are seen as a team builder, bridging departments locally and facilities internationally.


Main Accountabilities 

 

  1. Lead and develop the entire local Operations team (Safety, Supply Chain, Production, Logistics, Technics / Maintenance, QA/QC) according agreed plans, Bunge policies and legal framework. 
  2. Ensure pro-actively the fulfilling of legal and auditor requirements concerning assets, equipment and premises. 
  3. Provide a safe work place and environment.
  4. People Development.

 

What do you bring to the role?

 

  • A Bachelor/Master Degree, preferably in the Engineering field and/or 10 years relevant work experience;  
  • Fluent communication skills (both written and spoken) in Dutch and English is an absolute must;
  • Ability and experience working in a multi-national matrix organization / environment;
  • Experience in a production environment and food industry; 

 

As our Plant Manager, you bring the right technical and functional expertise to lead the plant. You are experienced in leading change and innovation and fully understand the organizational perspective. You have the mindset of a performance and result orientated manager, however always with a people first approach. Inspiring, developing and coaching people to bridge organizations and build a close community comes natural to you. You see development of people, talent management and succession planning as a core responsibility of any leadership role.
