As Project Engineer Process Automation for our hyper modern and largest edible oils plant in Europe in Rotterdam Maasvlakte, your primary role of is to maintain and govern the process automation systems onsite. Your goal is to maintain and improve the reliability of the system towards minimum downtime and provide and coordinate 3rd party first line support to the local organization. Other core responsibilities:

 

  • Managing the Siemens PCS7 and Simatic IT process automation systems
  • Coordinating all activities regarding the process automation systems
  • Analyzing automation requirements and advising in optimizing the systems
  • Ensure proper MOC procedures are followed to manage changes in the systems
  • Developing process design requirements and make adjustments to existing software
  • Ensure implementation of major hard- and software adjustments by external parties

This role is a great opportunity! It is visible and you will work closely with the entire organization, from the Plant Management team to third party system integrators and the Project Engineering department mostly based in Wormerveer. The main focus for this position is keeping the systems as reliable as possible. Maintenance stops are often short and need to be utilized to the fullest to do updates on the PA systems. Updates should be done regularly but should also be planned and tested properly prior to execution. This position ensures that all parties involved in updates and changes are aligned in what is happening to the PA system. In your first year, most importantly you are expected to make sure proper MOC is followed, you make changes to the system and you will update the planning for maintenance stops. From there you will transform towards more core process engineering activities and will be in charge of exciting projects the plant has planned!

 

What do you bring to the role?

 

  • A Bachelor or University degree in (technical) IT, process automation, engineering, or another relevant field
  • At least 5 years of experience in the process industry
  • Experience with Siemens PCS7 and/or Simatic IT (MES)
  • Experience in Fieldbus systems and knowledge of S88/S95 standards
  • Fluency in English, but also Dutch is highly preferred.
