Position Summary

Bunge is looking to hire qualified individuals for the position of Operator III.  The successful candidate will need to be able to work in a safety focused team environment.  The position of Operator III may include one or more of the following duties including: Cooker & Mill Operator.

Core Functions:

  • All job duties require attention to safe operation and demonstration of safe work habits and behaviors.  This includes the use of appropriate personal protective equipment for each job task.
  • All duties include general area housekeeping responsibilities.
  • All duties require adherence to Bunge’s quality and GMP/HACCP process and procedures.
  • All duties require attention to product specifications and appropriate product handling procedures.
  • All duties require equipment and tank inspection in accordance with safety and operating procedures.
  • Most job duties require employee to successfully complete Bunge’s forklift training and certification in order to operate the forklift as part of job duties.
  • All other duties as assigned.
  • Cooker & Mill Operator:
    • Maintains correct and proper operation of all equipment pertaining to the corn masa milling and packing process.
    • Record data, secures samples and performs necessary process control tests required for the successful operation of the plant.
    • Notifies supervisor of irregularities.
    • Removes choke-ups and feeds in spills.
    • Performs minor repair work as required for the efficient operation of the mill.
    • Performs any necessary lubrication in emergency situations where loss of production could occur.
    • Inspect and clean magnets and record results.
    • Packages designated products as instructed.
    • Obtains proper bags from packaging areas.
    • Maintains proper bag weights and records data as required.
    • Sets, cleans and adjusts code daters, sealers and bag turners
    • Walk through the mill, cook and silos areas in a regular basis to inspect process and equipment and to propose repairs, adjustments and any type of action required to operate the lines properly.
    • Operates the milling equipment using the screens and PC in the mill control room.

 

Skill/Experience Requirements:

  • 3 or more years of relevant work experience including manufacturing and/or ag processing operator experience.
  • Previous operator or mill experience is required.
  • Must be able to proficiently read and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and safety and quality training and processes. 
  • Must have basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and understand various units of measure (US Currency, Imperial weights and measurements, Metric weights and measurements), common fractions and decimal usage. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and varied schedules as necessitated by operations.

 

Work Schedule:

1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift assignments or assignment to rotating shift will be discussed during the recruiting process.

Language Requirements, if any:  Ability to read and write in English is required for the purposes of record keeping and training.  Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.
