The Product Management Analyst is responsible for pricing analytics, embedding price analytics in the organizational processes, and coordination with cost accounting and market sheet data for alignment with price guidance. The Product Management Analyst will also assist with cross functional projects and new product launches that support the execution of Canada’s business strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for the ongoing support for pricing and positioning strategies and will require strong understanding of product costing components including formula, manufacturing and supply chain inputs.
Reporting to the Assistant Product Manager Canada, this position will work closely with Pricing, Sales, R&D, Operations, Supply Chain & Marketing. The individual must have the ability to communicate effectively across technical and non-technical business units and interact with various functional groups across the business.
Core Functions:
- Expert in pricing analytics to support pricing and sales management in identification of price opportunities, track key performance indicators and provide recommendations for improvement.
- Coordinate changes in cost accounting, price conditions in SAP, and market sheet assumptions to maintain alignment with price guidance.
- Support Request for Proposal (RFP) process along with sales, product line management, R&D, supply chain and cost accounting; conduct debriefing analysis and recommend strategy or process changes as a result.
- Providing what-if scenarios and pricing analysis for complex new product development.
- Utilize existing tools (Pricing Engine, SFDC, Tableau dashboard, etc) to provide relevant and easily accessible analytics and KPI's to the commercial team.
- Provide sales reporting to track margins, product mix, sales trends to ensure strategies are maximizing profit.
- Analyze the Canadian edible oils product portfolio to balance SKU count and operational efficiency with customer needs and maximum value capture.
- Ensure all SKUs achieve volume and cost control objectives.
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business, science or engineering or related discipline with a minimum of 3 - 5 years of pricing analytics experience preferably in the food industry. MBA an asset.
- Demonstrated analytical, problem solving and organizational skills required.
- Results oriented with strong collaboration, relationship building and multi-tasking skills required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact at all levels of the organizations
- Expert knowledge of Excel and Strong overall computer knowledge, including experience with Microsoft Word and Lotus Notes. SAP knowledge is preferred.
- Basic Chicago Board of Trading (CBOT) Market understanding is a plus.
