Planning and Transportation Manager

This role is responsible for planning and execution of trades and domestic and export logistics in Australia. The purpose of the role is to oversee, improve and drive all aspects of the planning, execution and logistics within the Australia business. 

Main Accountabilites

  • Planning & Execution
    • Lead monthly S&OP meeting and report any decisions and changes to original plan
    • Responsible for managing all planning resources in Australia operations.
    • Work closely with the Logistic Coordinator for flows in Western Australia and providing backup where necessary.
    • Work closely with the Asia Logistics team based in Singapore to identify potential cost savings and bottlenecks to any logistics flow for the Asia Wheat Value Chain
    • Responsible for managing all planning resources for Australia operations
    • Work closely with Finance and Commercial team to reduce supply chain costs wherever possible  
    • Work closely with the Logistics Planning & Coordinator based in Western Australia and the industrial team to ensure adequate planning is in place to address procurement requirements
    • Manage the grower and export execution team to ensure it align with commercial and logistics planning.
  • Strategic
    • Proactive in identifying position improvement in logistics process through S&OP and implementing it in Australia.
    • Support the implement, standardization and sharing of best practices processes and long-term strategic studies
    • Being part of the Australia leadership team that work closely together to identify the strategic growth and direction for Australia business.
    • Review daily/weekly reports and identifying potential bottlenecks and performance issues
    • Review forecast based on historical performance and projected flow based on commercial and operations plan
  • Stakeholders management
    • Work closely with all internal and external bulk handlers
    • Key partner to the commercial team for Asia Wheat Value Chain, primarily for Australia
    • Manage the Australia Logistics and Execution team
    • Work closely with the global Logistics team

Job Requirement

  • More than 10 years in supply chain management
  • Knowledge in grains industry is required
  • Domestic travelling is required
  • Strong planning skills and experience
  • Ability to develop and execute S&OP
  • Structured approach and style
  • Extensive understanding of logistics/flows
  • Experience in execution and transactional impacts upon financial management and reporting
  • Clear communication and mindset ensuring extraction of information across functions in order to effectively deliver a robust plan
