What will you be doing as Manager Tax Netherlands?

As Manager Tax Netherlands you will support the Director Tax EMEA in the development and delivery of the direct tax strategy in line with the overall finance mission.

You will be accountable for the Netherlands headquarters’ and Dutch operations’ direct tax center of competence ensuring development of and adherence to the(inter)national tax developments and local country policies in order to maximize financial and direct tax control and minimize risk exposure. Furthermore, you will be an integral part of the Bunge EMEA Tax Leadership team.

In day to day operations you will largely operate independently. On the many (cross border) projects you will partner with the business, treasury, legal and accounting. Next to that you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the direct tax compliance and reporting, tax planning, transfer pricing and controversy of the Bunge entities in The Netherlands.

Specific responsibilities of the role will be:

  • Provide high quality tax advice and insight on various business projects through active interactions with other functions within Bunge;
  • Lead and manage The Netherlands on direct tax planning, transfer pricing, capital structure and controversy;
  • Develop controls and procedures to ensure Bunge operations in The Netherlands are in line with tax laws and international development, but also to achieve efficiencies and standardization in approach;
  • Optimize Bunge’s tax posture by generating tax savings and improving the tax cash flow and forecast;
  • Manage tax risk and controversy and defend Bunge where there is disagreement with local and/or international authorities;
  • Maintain relationships with external auditors and tax advisors and providers, control over cost and quality of the service.

The Manager Tax Netherlands has a challenging job at Bunge. He or she will be largely involved in  group financing, dividend planning and transfer pricing related matters. You will manage and develop another tax professional whilst involved in numerous interesting projects whereby you will collaborate with your peers throughout EMEA. In this role, you will be able to make the difference by giving expert, timely and proactive (tax) advice and to support the business in their decision making and persuading others to take actions relative to complex matters. Furthermore, the role is highly internationally oriented challenging you to deal with many different functions, persons and cultures.

 

What do we expect from our Manager Tax Netherlands?

As Manager Tax Netherlands you are a real team player, service minded and of course you know how to interact with peers from other professions and tax colleagues. You will work independently and you are not afraid to take decisions. Furthermore, you have well developed communication skills and you are a loyal and profound professional. You also bring the following to the table:

  • A master degree in Dutch Tax law or Dutch Tax economics;
  • 10-15 years’ relevant experience preferably at a multinational;
  • Strong knowledge of direct taxes;
  • People management skills;
  • Affinity with US GAAP;
  • Fluency in English is a must, knowledge of any other language is a plus.
