As production scheduler in Bunge Loders Croklaan you have an essential role in enabling us to deliver our quality products on time to our customers. Who are our customers? As we are a worldwide key food production company specialized in edible oils and fats, we are supplying the majority of food companies in segments such as Confectionary, Bakery, Nutrition, Plant based food solutions and more. You determine, based on our customers’ orders and demand patterns, the short term (0-2 weeks) strategy for supply and production and recommend the correct inventory levels for all products. In our world an order means: a boat or truck loaded with edible oil. Your daily challenge will be to create the right puzzle to optimize the plant capabilities to produce various oil recipes against minimal cost while focusing on an on time delivery. 


In this role you will be part of a core team of 8 passionate colleagues. You will work closely together in this team focused on the planning in our plant in Wormerveer (specialty oils) and Rotterdam Maasvlakte (commodity oils), but you also keep the connection with for example our plants in Germany and Ghana. 

It is an important and visible role, acting as an intermediary between Sourcing & Trading, Production, Quality, Logistics, Finance, Sales, Customer Service, Product line management and customers. You are a problem solver but will also inform key stakeholders and the leadership in case of any significant changes in supply or demand. The teams’ common goal is to provide the best customer service possible whilst achieving optimal utilization of equipment, personnel and inventory.

What does your manager have to say about the role?
The high level of excitement within the role due to an ever changing environment in combination with the amount of interactions in- and externally makes this role unique. As production scheduler you play a central role within the organization. You will engage both with production and sales in order to create the most optimal schedule.  This role is a great opportunity for an experienced scheduler, however it can also be a first introduction to the supply chain challenges in a food production company for a graduate in supply chain. This role creates much visibility and it gives the opportunity to understand the landscape and determine your desired next career steps. 

What do you bring to the role?

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Supply Chain management or industrial technology, engineering, Economics, Commercial Economics or related business / sciences.
  • Fluency in English. Dutch or other European languages are considered a plus. 
  • Also considered beneficial: experience with edible food products; oils and fats, logistical, production planning and distribution, gained through work experience, intern- or traineeships. experience with ERP, data processing, Scheduling Software and Excel.  


In addition you are an analytical person by nature, quality and accuracy are important to you. You love to work in a team and are able to build and maintain a strong relationship with colleagues and customers alike. Service is always on your mind and you enjoy the thrill of just-in-time and a highly changing environment, which ask for an entrepreneurial and proactive mindset and the ability to keep a high level overview. The role requires you to be available for consignment service.
