As Bunge Loders Croklaans’ (BLCs’) Senior Accounting and Reporting Manager you will be part of Bunge, one of the world’s impactful agribusiness and food companies that operates in a supportive and people-oriented environment.

 

In this role of Senior Accounting and Reporting Manager you will be in a leading financial accounting position in a global corporate  with the opportunity to bring yourself, your department and team to the next level. In your first year you will have the opportunity to join an SAP implementation, develop an optimized relationship and cooperation with the business and the shared Services team (BBS) and stabilize the PS Performance. This is a role and department that will have much exposure and gives opportunities for growth, due to interesting projects, such as a greenfield investment, system development and optimized intercompany cooperation.

 

As a core to the role of Senior Accounting and Reporting Manager you, you will coordinate and standardize record to report activities, including the consolidation and financial reporting for the Netherlands and potentially other countries in the EMEA region. You work with a team of 5 direct reports and, as we are a matrix organization, you will work closely together with the business and with teams and individuals, such as FP&A, BBS, Regional and Corporate Controlling, Tax, Legal. A good example would be the close cooperation with our Shared Service Center, Bunge Business Services (BBS), to establish and monitor accounting and financial reporting controls such as balance sheet reconciliation and OneStream consolidation. Also all efforts to ensure consistency of the record to report activities across the Bunge Loders Croklaan region and compliance with all related SOX controls will fall under your teams scope.  Finally you Serve as liaison between BBS and the Business. Informally lead the BBS activities and ensure the service level is aligned with Controlling’s and Business’ expectations.

 

Accountabilities & responsibilities include:

 

Financial Reporting

Monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting processes, while ensuring:

  • Overall quality and integrity of financial statements and SEC/SFAS reporting packages
  • Timely and accurate reporting of statutory accounts and other relevant local financial reporting requirements.
  • Compliance with US GAAP and local accounting standards
  • Continuous improvement, standardization, and harmonization of financial reporting activities for BLC in close cooperation with corporate controlling and BBS.

 

Record to Report

  • Establish reliable and consistent balance sheet reconciliation processes. Ensure the respective Corporate requirements are fully met.
  • Lead external audits for BLC and responsible for the retained CTC and PTP activities.
  • Ensure accounting entries, manual and systematic, are according to the relevant accounting rules and Bunge’s policies
  • Promote efficient and effective interactions between BBS (Record to Report) and the BLC local/regional team to fully comply with USGAAP and corporate standards.
     

SOX Internal Control

  • Responsible for the annual SOX 404 compliance related to Financial Reporting controls.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of the established SOX controls and the respective action plans due to deficiencies identified.
  • BBS (PTP and CTC)
  • Supervise the CTC and PTP retained activities.
  • Manage day-to-day PTP and CTC interactions with BBS.


What do you bring to the role?

  • Strong technical expertise and experience working in controlling, US GAAP and SEC financial reporting roles; U.S. multinational and SOX experience desired.
  • Knowledge of SAP would be a strong advantage
  • Advanced multi-cultural leadership in an international environment.
  • Able to coordinate activities with multi-location teams.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing. with various levels in the organization.
  • Experience and desire to work across multiple cultures and cross functional business environments.
  • Flexibility to prioritize multiple responsibilities and activities in high pressure situations.
  • Self-starting abilities to take initiative and work independently, proactive towards problems and issues.
  • Fluent in English, fluent in Dutch highly desirable.
