Maintain communication with service providers (customs brokers, railroads, trucking companies, storage providers, and product suppliers) according to logistics needs, seeking the best rates.
Review customs brokers’ expense accounts and validate costs against previously agreed and authorized rates; record transactions in the system and request payment in accordance with agreed supplier terms.

Lead and guide the Trade Assistants and Logistics team, establishing work plans and priorities aligned with the business strategy to drive meaningful impact on company results.

Support compliance with rail incentive programs by monitoring commitments and maintaining constant communication with the operations team to ensure timely train release.
Establish contact and negotiate with new over-the-road transportation providers to improve freight rates while meeting commercial commitments.
Verify and approve invoices and prepayments entered into the system by Trade Assistants.
File claims (for damages and shortages in rail shipments) and gather the necessary information for recovery.
Document transportation incidents during cargo transit (derailments, trucking accidents, shortages, quality issues, theft, among others) and report them to the appropriate area for insurance follow-up.
Promote and establish a proactive mindset within the team.
Establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with business managers to build strong collaboration.
Develop a deep understanding of the invoicing process and the functions of Trade Assistants, as well as the related systems, to ensure timely performance.
Provide excellent customer service by fostering positive relationships and ensuring strong follow-up on issues for both internal and external customers.
Create and maintain a team-oriented environment across all supported business areas.
Generate reports for proper analysis of contracting execution, transportation management and costs, customs broker operations, product rejections, and contract delivery times; through the implementation of periodic KPIs to be presented to management and senior leadership.
