What will you be doing as a Market Project Management Lead?

The core focus of this role is to implement project management methodologies, tools, and standards across the plants in the market to achieve planned product and or technical results within agreed timeline and budget and to provide technical leadership and oversight for the execution of allocated CAPEX projects at market level in collaboration with the respective plants.

This will be done through the following activities:

• Lead the CAPEX planning process for the market together with the Industrial Director, Plant Managers, and key stakeholders from Commercial, Finance, and Procurement, reviewing and prioritizing projects based on business and operational needs.
• Support the technical and industrial leadership in the market to successfully execute the project portfolio, delivering projects on time and on budget, within the expected technical specifications.
• Work with project teams in the countries to deliver projects on time and within budget and to share lessons learned across the market.
• Evaluate the project applications from a technical perspective and business needs.
• Manage the stage-gate development process as required
• Cascade and implement minimum engineering standards  for the plants. Ensure that the global technical standards are available and used in the market to ensure safe and reliable plant design.
• Embed other Bunge standards and procedures early in the projects including product safety, hygiene, environmental aspects, etc
• Participate in the selection of suppliers, together with the Procurement
• Master the utilization of Genius/PPM and enforce its use as best as possible ensuring consistent and accurate reporting on project’s approval flows and implementation.
• Periodically report on the status and progress of the main projects.
• Monitor project lifecycle and proactively assist plants that are not meeting established improvement goals.
• Build project management competence in the market; train and develop the project teams.

The position will have two reporting lines: direct to Market Industrial Operations Director based in Budapest and functional reporting to our Director, Engineering and CAPEX Projects Europe, based in Barcelona.

What do we expect from our future colleague?

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering required; Chemical, Civil, Mechanical or Agricultural related engineering preferred
• Master’s degree or MBA preferred 
• 8+ years engineering experience with at least 5 years of experience managing others 
• Deep knowledge and expertise in oils chemistry, engineering and operations.
• At least 5 years’ experience in management of major engineering/construction projects including estimating, scheduling and cost control required; experience in oilseeds handling and processing is preferred
• Working knowledge of safety, environmental, sustainability, quality and continuous improvement principles
• Proficiency in project management methodologies
• Understanding of the Total Cost of Ownership Concepts
• General understanding of business performance indicators such as WACC, RONA and project economics.
• Must possess a demonstrated high degree of tact in dealing with plant staff and craft personnel.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to build effective partnerships across business functions, understand business strategy, and translate strategic objectives into project priorities and execution plans.
• The ability to gain the support of various stakeholders for ideas, proposals, and solutions, as well as develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization who can provide information, assistance, and support.
