Overview:

We are looking for an experienced technology leader with expertise in software architecture to join the Enterprise Architecture & Technology Enablement team in the Business Technology (BT) organization.

Through this role, our Future-Proof Strategy and Architecture principles are translated and applied across all BT Solutions. The ideal candidate will be able to manage the technical architecture analysis, research, and design of new functionalities and integrations within the ecosystem, aligned with our EA and Platform Strategy.

In addition, this person takes part in evaluating new solution proposals and ensures that all elements of the business requirements work together to meet BT architecture guidelines—including processes, operating systems, and technical architectures—as well as assessing the adoption of new requirements and modules as the primary point of contact with SAP Premium/Consulting/Advisory.

This person is a Senior Leader with global exposure and accountability.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the multi-year (5–10 year) SAP target architecture, capability model, and transformation roadmap—spanning the ECC-to-S/4HANA journey, Clean Core discussions, and the post-go-live, AI-native SAP horizon—and evolve it continuously against internal demand and external market signals.
    • Lead the SAP reference architecture build across the Finance, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, and Commercial domains together with other EA and Solution Architects, mapping business capabilities to technical components and directing the Solution Architect community in translating it into project-level designs.
  • Build and chair the SAP architecture governance forum—setting principles, standards, decision records, and quality criteria's; acting as the final EA authority on SAP-domain demand, exceptions, custom code, and extension strategy, including when something should be done in SAP and why.
  • Support rationalization and simplification across the enterprise—satellite decommissioning into the SAP stack, reduction of customization, integration reuse, and TCO trajectory—with measurable OKRs (time-to-market, cost-to-change, custom code density, and standard adoption %).
  • Coach and uplift Solution and Application Architects across BT and the SAP CoE on Clean Core, BTP extensibility, integration patterns, and value-based architecture thinking.
  • Represent EA as the primary counterpart to SAP.
  • Curate industry intelligence (SAPinsider, ASUG/DSAG, peer references, and product roadmap notes) and convert it into proposals for internal roadmap adjustments for the SAP Agribusiness group and the EA Lead.

Essential Capabilities

  • EA seniority and executive presence—credible with Directors and technical peers; able to lead ambiguous, fast-paced, cross-regional programs and defend positions in front of SAP, SIs, and hyperscalers.
  • Deep, current mastery of the SAP product portfolio and roadmap—including licensing, cost models, and Indirect/Digital Access implications.
    • Proven authorship of global, multi-year SAP transformation roadmaps and connections to Business Capability Models (BCM).
  • Working experience with industry frameworks (APQC PCF, SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework/LEAP, TOGAF), with clear phasing, dependencies, value milestones, and risk gates.
  • Change Advisory Board leadership—with the ability to enforce standards, resolve architectural exceptions constructively, and lead Clean Core programs (custom code decommissioning, released API adoption, side-by-side extensibility, and ABAP Cloud). Prior Clean Core program leadership is strongly preferred.
  • Enterprise-scale architecture decision-making—able to translate business strategy into SAP components and BTP services, run evidence-based evaluation frameworks (capability fit-gap, RFI/RFP scoring, TCO), and build and defend business cases with benefit-realization discipline.
  • Systems thinking at enterprise scale—able to trace second- and third-order impacts across process, data, integration, security, cloud tenancy, and operations.
  • External-intelligence discipline—active in industry communities (SAPinsider, ASUG/DSAG, Gartner client, and peer networks) and comfortable using external references to accelerate internal decisions.

Required Capabilities

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; a Master's/MBA is a plus.
  • 10+ years designing and implementing solutions in a complex, global enterprise environment.
  • 5+ years in SAP Architecture roles.
  • At least one end-to-end S/4HANA program (Brownfield conversion, Selective Data Transition, or Greenfield) at enterprise scale.
  • English fluency sufficient to discuss and debate in technical and executive forums without support; Spanish and/or Portuguese is a strong plus given Bunge's Southern Cone and Iberian footprint.
  • Working knowledge of S/4HANA components and how to acquire knowledge about them.
  • Practical experience with one or more SAP modules (functional or technical).
    • Working knowledge of sizing, licensing (PUMP/CPEA/PAYG), and cost models for SAP components.
  • Broad literacy in core technology concepts—cloud (GCP/AWS/Azure), data (BigQuery), AI/ML, and integration (iPaaS, event streaming, APIs).
  • Financial literacy—CAPEX/OPEX planning, TCO, business case construction, and IRR/NPV.
  • IT Security savvy; comfortable with regulatory environments (SOX, GDPR/LGPD, EUDR, and sustainability reporting) and continuous audit cycles.
  • Working knowledge of LeanIX (or an equivalent EA repository).
    • TOGAF, SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework (LEAP), or equivalent EA knowledge is required.
