Project Manager (HR PMO)

As the Manager, HR Transformation Project Management, you will be a highly motivated and strategically-minded professional responsible for leading complex HR transformation initiatives. Reporting directly to the HR PMO, this role is critical in driving the planning, execution, and comprehensive oversight of strategic HR initiatives, programs, and projects across our Centers of Excellence (COEs), including Total Rewards, HR Operations, Talent Management, and Talent Acquisition. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and advancing our ongoing organizational transformation, ensuring projects are not only delivered on time, within scope, and budget, but also consistently align with overarching strategic goals and deliver measurable business value. This position requires a leader who can navigate ambiguity, influence at all levels, and champion best practices in project and program management. 

 

Activities and Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Project & Program Leadership: Lead the end-to-end lifecycle of 7 to 10 large-scale, complex HR transformation projects and programs, from strategic planning and initiation through execution, monitoring, and successful closure, ensuring alignment with Bunge's strategic objectives. Projects will be global or regional, spanning across ~30 countries.

  • Cross-Functional & Stakeholder Management: Orchestrate and manage activities across multiple HR COEs, IT, Finance, Legal, and other critical internal and external stakeholders. Proactively build and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders and executive sponsors to ensure alignment, secure resources, and drive decision-making.

  • Risk & Issue Management: Develop and implement advanced strategies for proactive identification, assessment, mitigation, and reporting of project and program risks, issues, and dependencies.

  • Governance & Reporting: Establish and maintain robust project governance frameworks. Develop, maintain, and communicate comprehensive project and program plans, detailed timelines, resource allocations, and financial budgets. Provide transparent and impactful reporting to senior leadership and executive committees on project status, key milestones, financial health, and strategic outcomes.

  • PMO Strategic Contribution: Actively contribute to the strategic evolution of the HR PMO, including the development, standardization, and continuous improvement of project management methodologies, tools, templates, and best practices across the HR function. Potentially mentor and guide junior project managers or project coordinators within the PMO.

  • Compliance & Best Practices: Ensure all projects adhere to internal company policies, compliance standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices. Drive a culture of quality and accountability.

  • Change Leadership & Adoption: Partner with change management and communication teams to ensure effective adoption of new processes, systems, and structures resulting from transformation initiatives.

  • Portfolio Management Support: Contribute to the strategic prioritization and portfolio planning of HR initiatives, ensuring optimal resource allocation and maximum strategic impact.

  • Complex Problem Solving: Navigate highly complex and ambiguous situations, employing critical thinking and creative problem-solving to overcome obstacles and drive projects forward.

 

Requirements

Knowledge and Skills

  • Technical:

    Advanced Project/Program Management Tools: Expert proficiency with enterprise-level project and portfolio management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana, SmartSheet, Monday.com, Planview) and collaboration tools.

    Methodology Expertise: Proven experience with various project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid) and the ability to apply the most appropriate approach for different initiatives.

    Language: English proficient (C2) is required. Additional language skills relevant to Bunge's global footprint are a plus.

    HR Domain Knowledge: Strong understanding of HR functions, processes, and current industry trends, including experience with HRIS implementations (e.g., Workday, SAP SuccessFactors) and HR technology.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Organizational Development, or a related field. Master’s degree (MBA) or graduate degree in Project Management highly preferred.Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Associate in

  • Project Management (CAPM) certification is required. Program Management Professional (PgMP) or SAFe certification is a significant advantage.

  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience, with a significant portion dedicated to leading large-scale, complex HR transformation initiatives or programs and global teams.

  • Proven experience managing global teams and projects with significant organizational impact.

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management, including executive-level influence, including HRLT and global Director roles.

  • Exceptional organizational and strategic planning skills, with a proven ability to prioritize and manage a portfolio of projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment, managing complex interdependencies.

  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for various audiences, including executive leadership.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence without direct authority, lead cross-functional teams, and drive consensus.
