Overview

 

 The person in this role demonstrates a high level of professionalism, prioritizing the development of innovative solutions to improve results within the virtual desktop environment. Responsibilities include leveraging in-depth knowledge of Bunge’s business and strategy to develop solutions, contributing to process improvements, and driving results through high standards, focus on key priorities, and preparing for technological changes. This role also involves providing technical guidance and mentorship to professionals and support staff.

 

 

Essential Functions: Main Accountabilities

 

 

  • Manage specific projects or processes related to virtual desktop infrastructure, operating independently with limited supervision.
  • Participate in projects of moderate complexity, contributing to continuous process improvements within BT Infrastructure.
  • Responsible for the effective execution of core activities within the virtual desktop environment, ensuring important results are obtained.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of virtual desktop technologies and a basic understanding of related IT disciplines, using this expertise to adapt departmental plans.
  • Recommend innovative solutions and best practices for virtual desktop infrastructure that align with strategic objectives and enhance user experience.
  • Perform a variety of complex and non-complex tasks related to virtual desktop management, analysis, and troubleshooting.
  • Analyze problems thoroughly to understand their root causes, supporting the delivery of solutions to complex issues where clear precedents may not exist.
  • Follow specific functional policies and broad procedures, choosing appropriate tactics to reach established goals within the virtual desktop domain.

  • Contributes to process improvements and the execution of key virtual desktop activities, directly influencing operational efficiency and user productivity.
  • Adapts departmental plans and recommends solutions/best practices based on in-depth knowledge of virtual desktop infrastructure, impacting IT service delivery.
  • Decisions and problem-solving impact the immediate team and departmental projects, ensuring the reliable and performant operation of virtual desktop services.

 

Management/Leadership

 

  • Manages projects and processes related to virtual desktop infrastructure independently, operating with limited supervision.
  • Provides technical leadership and guidance to professionals and/or support staff, acting as a resource for less experienced colleagues.
  • Adheres to specific functional policy and broad procedure, choosing appropriate tactics to reach established goals within the virtual desktop domain.

 

Knowledge and Technical Competencies

 

  • In-depth expertise in virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) technologies (e.g., VMware Horizon, Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops, Microsoft AVD).
  • Strong understanding of operating systems (Windows, Linux), active directory, group policy, and profile management solutions.
  • Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., PowerShell) for VDI environment management.
  • Experience with cloud-based VDI solutions and hybrid cloud architectures.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex performance and connectivity issues.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of explaining complex technical information clearly to diverse audiences.

 

Minimum Requirements: Education/Experience

 

 

Bachelor's degree (Master's may be preferred) with 11 - 14 years of position-related functional experience in virtual desktop engineering or a related IT field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
