Position Summary:

The Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE) Market Intelligence Analyst is a contributing member of Bunge's procurement organization, responsible for driving strategic decision-making through comprehensive market insights, trend analysis, and proactive risk identification across the global procurement function. This role requires a keen interest in global markets (e.g., agricultural commodities, energy, logistics, packaging), strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to translate complex market data into actionable intelligence. The analyst will play a critical role in enhancing data-driven decision-making, optimizing sourcing strategies, informing negotiation tactics, and contributing to Bunge's competitive advantage and supply chain resilience.

 

The Analyst supports the achievement of objectives by providing critical external market insights, aiding in strategic sourcing, cost optimization initiatives, and helping to mitigate risks. The role assists in interactions with internal stakeholders to support effective strategies for market-informed process optimization, data management, and technology adoption specifically related to market intelligence. The Analyst adheres to internal and external policies, laws, and regulations while actively participating in safety programs and initiatives and following all safe work practices.

 

Core Functions:

 

  • Drive Global Market Intelligence & Strategic Insights:

    • Proactively gather, analyze, and interpret complex external market data, including commodity price trends, macroeconomic indicators, geopolitical events, supplier landscape dynamics, technological advancements, and regulatory changes impacting global procurement categories.

    • Develop and deliver comprehensive market intelligence reports, outlooks, and price forecasts to inform strategic sourcing decisions, category management strategies, and risk mitigation plans.

    • Identify emerging market trends, potential supply chain disruptions, and opportunities for innovation or cost savings across Bunge's global procurement spend.

    • Support the development and implementation of global procurement strategies and policies by integrating market intelligence findings and recommendations.

 

  • Market Intelligence Integration & Application:

    • Collaborate with category managers and procurement teams to integrate market intelligence insights into tender processes, contract negotiations, supplier relationship management, and long-term supply agreements.

    • Benchmark Bunge's procurement performance against industry best practices and market conditions, identifying areas for competitive advantage and performance improvement.

    • Provide expert commentary and analysis on market developments during strategy formulation and review sessions.

 

  • Enhance Data-Driven Decision-Making:

    • Design, develop, and maintain market intelligence dashboards, reports, and data models to provide real-time visibility into key market drivers and their potential impact on procurement.

    • Conduct in-depth analysis of market data, scenario planning, and sensitivity analysis to quantify potential risks and opportunities (e.g., price volatility, supply constraints, currency fluctuations).

    • Translate complex market analyses into clear, concise, and actionable recommendations for senior leadership and procurement stakeholders.

    • Collaborate with IT and external data providers to ensure the accuracy, integrity, and accessibility of critical market intelligence data sources.

 

  • Support Market Intelligence Technology Adoption:

    • Research and evaluate market intelligence platforms, data visualization tools, and predictive analytics solutions to enhance Bunge's MI capabilities.

    • Support the implementation and adoption of new market intelligence tools and methodologies, providing training and support to relevant teams.

    • Stay abreast of industry best practices in market intelligence and integrate new approaches where applicable.

 

  • Stakeholder Management:

    • Act as a primary point of contact and subject matter expert for market intelligence, proactively communicating insights to procurement, commercial, and supply chain stakeholders.

    • Facilitate workshops and presentations to educate stakeholders on market dynamics, risks, and opportunities.

    • Build strong relationships with internal and external experts (e.g., industry analysts, consultants, suppliers) to enrich market understanding.

 

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Finance, Data Science, or a related analytical field.

  • 3+ years of progressive experience in market intelligence, procurement analytics, commodity analysis, financial analysis, or a similar data-intensive role, preferably within a global manufacturing or agricultural trading environment.

  • Demonstrated strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and derive actionable insights.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas) and PowerPoint (clear presentation of complex data).

  • Experience with market data platforms (e.g., Bloomberg, Refinitiv, S&P Global Platts, agricultural commodity data providers) and business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly preferred.

  • Strong understanding of global economic factors, geopolitical trends, and commodity markets (e.g., agricultural commodities, energy, packaging materials).

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems, e-sourcing platforms, and contract management tools is a plus.

  • Ability to travel occasionally to meet with stakeholders and peers (less than 5%).
