Summary:

This Senior Credit Manager – Special Projects position is a highly strategic role responsible for leading and executing complex credit-related initiatives within the organization. The incumbent will provide expert credit analysis and risk assessment for Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A), oversee credit management for Joint Venture partnerships, manage the credit application process of the company’s financial statement analysis application, and contribute to other special projects as needed. This role requires deep expertise in credit management, a strong understanding of Brazilian agribusiness, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to effectively collaborate with senior management.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mergers & Acquisitions:
    • Conduct comprehensive due diligence and credit analysis on target companies.
    • Identify and quantify key credit risks and opportunities and participate in the structuring of credit solutions in M&A transactions.
    • Develop and present credit risk assessments and recommendations to senior management.
    • Support the integration of acquired companies into existing credit processes.
  • Joint Venture Partnerships:
    • Provide guidance for credit analysis and risk management practices for joint venture partnerships.
    • Develop and implement credit policies and procedures for joint ventures.
    • Monitor the credit performance of joint venture partners.
    • Provide guidance and training to joint venture partners on credit-related matters.
  • Financial Statement Analysis Application:
    • Manage the credit application process associated with the company’s financial statement analysis application.
    • Ensure the application effectively captures and analyzes relevant credit data.
    • Monitor the application’s performance and identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with IT and other stakeholders on application development and maintenance.
  • Special Projects:
    • Contribute credit expertise to various special projects as they arise.
    • Provide credit risk assessments and recommendations for strategic initiatives.
    • Support the development and implementation of new credit products and services.
  • Leadership and Collaboration:
    • Interact effectively with executive-level managers, providing clear and concise credit information.
    • Collaborate with other leaders across commercial, finance, legal, and other departments.
    • Lead and mentor credit team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field. MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in credit management, including experience with M&A, joint ventures, and credit application processes.
  • Thorough understanding of the agricultural business and associated credit risks in Brazil.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor teams.
  • Exceptional organizational and project management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.  Proficiency in both Portuguese and English languages.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
