Role Purpose Statement

 

This position is responsible for daily settlement, operational, and administrative activities originating from the trading desk. The role works closely with the Execution team to monitor and ensure that all processes are performed in compliance with company policies, procedures, and controls.

 

 

 

Main Accountabilities

 

• Contract Entry and Maintenance: Based on trader instructions (primarily via email), enter purchase and sales contracts into SAP, including flat-price, premium, and frame contracts.

 

  • Purchase Contracts:
    • In-house contracts from Bunge entities, mainly GMO soybeans for the Ravenna plant, soybean meal for the Savona and Napoli ports, and crude sunflower oil (primarily mirror contracts).
    • Third-party contracts, including non-GMO soybeans (mainly domestic), soybean meal, soybeans through Ravenna port, and vegetable oils (mainly crude oils).
  • Sales Contracts:
    • Primarily third-party sales contracts covering soybean meal, soybeans, hulls, by-products, crude oils, refined oils, fatty oils, and soaps.
    • Transfer Price (TP) contracts for the Bottling Department.

 

• Contract Verification, Distribution, and Archiving:

  • Direct Sales Contracts:
    • Generate PDF versions of contracts from SAP and archive them in the shared drive.
    • Send contracts to customers (mostly automated through SAP).
    • Monitor contract delivery, ensure signed copies are received, and archive them accordingly.
  • Direct Purchase Contracts:
    • Review contracts received from suppliers, return signed copies, and maintain proper records.
    • For manually issued purchase contracts (e.g., domestic non-GMO soybean contracts), prepare, send, track, and archive signed agreements.
  • Broker Contracts:
    • Verify contract accuracy and archive documentation.
    • Coordinate with brokers to correct discrepancies when required.

 

• Contract Monitoring and Reconciliation: Generate daily contract extracts from Analyzer, update the contract control Excel file, and verify contract details, including brokerage and transportation costs.

 

• Contract Amendments: Process amendments and modifications to existing contracts based on trader instructions. Update SAP records and issue amendment confirmations to customers or suppliers when required.

 

• Frame and Basis Contract Fixations:

  • Prepare weekly USD fixation reports and monthly CBOT expiry analyses.
  • Execute CBOT, currency, and premium fixations in SAP based on trader or customer instructions or contract expiry dates.
  • Prepare and distribute fixation confirmation documents.

 

• Washout Management: Coordinate contract washouts by informing the Execution team of the contracts to be settled through washout processes.

 

• Weighbridge Authorizations: Create loading authorizations when required to support logistics operations.

 

• Customer and Supplier Master Data: Initiate master data requests for new customers and suppliers. Coordinate directly with customers or suppliers when additional information, such as bank details, is required.

 

• Contract File Validation: Review and approve trader contract files to ensure consistency with contracts entered into SAP.

 

• Execution Team Coordination: Work closely with the Execution department to manage SAP contract options, quantity adjustments, and other operational requirements.

 

• Market Analysis: Analyze market prices, volumes, and capacity allocation trends for finished products to support commercial decision-making.

 

 

 

Education & Experience

 

  • University degree in Business Administration, Agricultural Sciences, Economics, Supply Chain, or a related field.
  • Fluent in Italian and English. Additional language skills, including French, Spanish, or German, are considered an advantage.
  • Demonstrated achievement-oriented mindset.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • High levels of openness, trust, and integrity.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities.
