Role Purpose Statement
Lead and transform Bunge’s end‑to‑end Trade Execution across Bulk/Dry and Container value chains—consolidating and streamlining the global container business post‑Viterra merger, embedding enhanced controls, and reimagining the trade execution taxonomy using an Agentic AI lens. The role delivers step‑change improvements in speed, accuracy, cost‑to‑serve, cash conversion, risk management, and customer experience, enabling a scalable, resilient, and data‑driven Bunge supply chain.
Main Accountabilities
- Strategy & Operating Model Transformation
Define and execute the Target Operating Model (TOM) for Trade Execution that unifies Bulk/Dry and Container flows, optimizes handoffs, and standardizes global SOPs/RACI.
Establish a “Bunge Trade Execution Taxonomy & Ontology” (process, data, events, controls), designed for event‑driven, AI‑first operations and audit‑ready traceability.
Build a multi‑year roadmap (people, process, data, tech) to improve velocity, quality, and cost‑to‑serve; align with Bunge’s enterprise strategy and GBS model. [GTE SERVIC...rade Ops | Word]
2) Post‑Merger Integration – Container Business
Consolidate and streamline Bunge’s container execution post‑Viterra integration—harmonize policies, lanes, rate cards, vendor panels, SLAs, SOPs, KPIs, and data standards.
Rationalize carrier/forwarder base; implement network and flow design for detention/demurrage (D&D) avoidance, equipment optimization, and improved on‑time performance.
Lead change management: communications, training, capability uplift, and adoption.
3) End‑to‑End Trade Execution Leadership (Bulk/Dry & Container)
Own the execution cycle: contract setup, vessel/container nomination, booking & scheduling, documentation (LC/collections/open account), pre‑shipment & shipment operations, post‑fixture, laytime/demurrage & claims, settlements, and exception handling.
Ensure tight integration with Global Freight (chartering, voyage management), Ports/Terminals, Surveyors, and Inspection providers for throughput reliability.
Drive zero‑defect documentation and on‑time presentation to banks/buyers; minimize revenue leakage and time‑bar exposure. [GTE SERVIC...rade Ops | Word]
4) Controls, Risk & Compliance
Embed an enhanced Internal Control Framework (SoX‑aligned): segregation of duties, maker‑checker, contract & shipment control points, and robust audit trails in CTRM/SAP/TMS.
Ensure compliance with GAFTA/FOSFA/ANEC/NAEGA/ICA, Incoterms, UCP 600, ISBP 745, sanctions & AML/KYC controls, and country‑specific trade regulations.
Establish time‑bar monitoring and claims governance to achieve zero revenue leakage. [GTE SERVIC...rade Ops | Word]
5) Agentic AI & Digital Automation (AI‑First Execution)
Design, pilot, and scale an Agentic AI portfolio to deliver measurable productivity and control gains:
Doc Agents: LC/collection pack assembly, clause validation, discrepancy detection, and auto‑presentation readiness checks.
Exception‑Handling Agents: Auto‑triage and resolution workflows for shipment delays, D&D risk, missing docs, and discrepancy cures.
Predictive ETA & Disruption Intelligence: Combine carrier feeds, port congestion, and historicals to proactively re‑plan.
Laytime/Demurrage Assistants: Pre‑calculation, clause interpretation, counter‑party negotiation support, and time‑bar alerts.
Reconciliation Agents: Autonomous 3‑way/4‑way match (contracts, bookings, BLs, invoices, receipts); anomaly detection for leakage/fraud.
Knowledge Graph & Copilots: Create a Trade Execution Knowledge Graph; expose process copilots for planners, docs specialists, and claims analysts.
RPA → Agents Migration: Re‑platform tactical bots into goal‑directed AI agents with guardrails, monitoring, and human‑in‑the‑loop.
Set AI guardrails (data privacy, Responsible AI), model risk management, and benefits tracking (STP rate, cycle time, FTE capacity released).
6) Performance Management & Value Delivery
Define and publish a Global KPI/OKR suite; run weekly performance huddles and quarterly value reviews.
Drive cash & cost outcomes: cash cycle reduction, freight and D&D optimization, productivity, and quality.
7) Stakeholder Management & Governance
Serve as the single‑threaded owner for execution performance; chair cross‑functional forums with Trading, Freight, Supply Chain, Finance/Controlling, and IT/Data.
Vendor governance for carriers, forwarders, surveyors, and agents; negotiate SLAs and continuous improvement commitments.
8) People Leadership & Capability Building
Build and mentor a high‑performing team (managers/SMEs/analysts) with clear career paths, skills matrices, and succession plans.
Establish a Trade Execution Academy with AI fluency, documentation mastery, controls & compliance, and negotiation skills."
