Overview: The person in this role demonstrates a high level of professionalism, prioritizing the operational processes that ensure reliable and efficient delivery across our expanding global platform footprint. This individual will focus on release management, continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, environment management, deployment strategies, and establishing robust controls and quality gates. Leveraging a deep understanding of Bunge’s business and strategy, this role develops innovative solutions to improve results and proactively drives high standards for platform delivery, adapting to change and challenges.

Essential Functions: Main Accountabilities

  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, and business analysts to gather, analyze, and document business requirements and translate them into Salesforce solutions.
  • Perform impact assessments for new enhancements, integrations, data model changes, automation, and security modifications across the Salesforce platform.
  • Configure and support Salesforce functionality including objects, fields, validation rules, flows, reports, dashboards, permissions, and related platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate with developers, architects, and administrators to design scalable and maintainable solutions aligned with Salesforce best practices and Bunge standards.
  • Support testing activities including test planning, test case validation, UAT coordination, defect analysis, and deployment readiness assessments.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application issues related to Salesforce configuration, business processes, integrations, data quality, and user access.
  • Maintain functional and technical documentation including process flows, solution designs, data mappings, configuration documents, and release documentation.
  • Provide production support and continuous improvement recommendations to enhance platform adoption, user experience, operational efficiency, and business value.
  • Own and manage the end-to-end release process for the Salesforce platform, ensuring smooth and timely deployments across all environments.
  • Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automating deployment processes and optimizing efficiency.
  • Oversee Salesforce environment management, including refresh strategies, data seeding, and configuration consistency across development, testing, and production instances.
  • Develop and enforce quality gates and control mechanisms within the deployment lifecycle to ensure code quality, security, and performance standards are met.
  • Identify and implement solutions to complex problems related to deployments and environment stability, often in situations where clear precedents may not exist.
  • Collaborate closely with development teams, architects, and business stakeholders to align release schedules and resolve deployment-related issues.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of release management and DevOps practices, introducing best practices and tooling.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in Salesforce release processes, providing guidance and support to various teams.

  • Accountable for the successful execution of large and/or moderately complex projects related to platform delivery.
  • Provides input on resource planning and policy development within the technical operations domain.
  • Develops and implements operational plans within the department, serving as a recognized expert in release and environment management.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Deployment success rate and frequency.
  • Reduction in post-deployment issues and rollbacks.
  • Efficiency and automation levels of CI/CD pipelines.
  • Adherence to quality gates and control standards.

Major Opportunities and Decisions:

  • Analyzing and resolving complex problems in CI/CD pipelines and deployment processes where established precedents may not exist.
  • Making critical decisions to ensure the integrity and stability of multiple Salesforce environments.
  • Identifying and implementing solutions to enhance the reliability and speed of global platform delivery.

Management/Leadership:

  • Manages operational plans and processes for release and environment management with limited oversight.
  • Leads and participates with comparable influence in large projects and initiatives related to platform delivery and governance.
  • Provides leadership and guidance to professional and support staff on best practices for CI/CD and deployments.
  • Contributes to short to mid-term talent optimization plans within the technical operations area.

Key Relationships, Stakeholders & Interfaces (External & Internal): Works closely with Salesforce developers, administrators, technical architects, project managers, quality assurance teams, business analysts, and IT leadership.

Knowledge and Technical Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of Salesforce platform configuration, security model, data model, workflow automation, Flow, reports, and dashboards.
  • Experience in requirements gathering, business process mapping, solution documentation, and stakeholder management.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce integration patterns and enterprise application interfaces.
  • Ability to perform root cause analysis, impact assessments, testing coordination, and change management activities.
  • Extensive experience with Salesforce release management tools (e.g., Salesforce DX, Copado, Gearset, Azure DevOps).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD principles and practices, with hands-on experience configuring and maintaining pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of Salesforce metadata, deployment strategies, and change sets.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
  • Knowledge of environment management best practices in a complex Salesforce ecosystem.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Shell) for automation.
  • Relevant Salesforce certifications (e.g., Salesforce Certified Platform Developer I/II, Salesforce Certified Administrator, or DevOps-related certifications).

Minimum Requirements: Education/Experience: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master's may be preferred) with over 10 years of position-related functional experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
