Business Title -Team Lead - Freight Operations
Reporting to -Tanker Freight Operations Lead
Role Purpose Statement
This role, reporting to the Freight Operations Lead , who is in turn part of the Trade Execution leadership team will be responsible for all aspects of the voyage ranging from the initial cleaning instructions, planning and effective operation of full voyage including cargo and bunkers calculations, hire and freight payments along with are responsible for working in liaise with all internal and external stakeholders such as traders, various vendors, brokers and ship owners in addition supporting to Bunge Global Laytime and Trade Execution and Trading teams.
The successful candidate will work upstream with the Origin/destination execution Teams to understand and derive solutions to sustainable and efficient execution, defining profitable Post fixture liquidation module , support SLA’s for key deliverables, support and report on product classification , act as a liaison with Traders, Accounting, Global execution, Auditors, and key stakeholders. "
Main Accountabilities
- Planning and operations of all aspects of the voyage ranging from the initial instructions to final redelivery.
- Elaboration of the stowage plan in coordination with trade/chartering to optimize it as per Bunge requirement.
- Liaising with ship owners for cleaning instructions and follow up if required.
- Optimization on bunkers.
- Preparation and follow up on freight payments through to the finalization.
- Appointing agents.
- Communication with owners, charterers, brokers, traders, insurance
- Coaching of trainees and newcomers on company and department activities.
- Feedback on average costs vs. estimates.
- Perform vessel screening to ensure compliance as per Bunge Global guidelines – Review of reports, Check availability of vessel charter party agreement, vessel certificates and others
- Monitor loading/discharge operations and coordinate with surveyors and load port agents
- Produce and retain documentation in accordance with internal and external policies’ and procedures’ requirements
- Review counterparty claims and disputes and liaise with internal and external counterparties as to the correctness of the calculation
- Assistance on all claims matter

Technical
- Experienced with the IMOS and SOFTMAR integrated voyage handling.
- MICS Member.( preferred)
- Good understanding of contracts, charter parties and key laytime/demurrage provisions and the terminology associated with the petroleum industry and commercial commodities.(Preferred)
- Knowledge and understanding of marine and terminal operations. (Preferred)
- Ability to provide high quality level of customer service to internal & external stakeholders involved in contract execution & settlement
- Ability to work independently, efficiently and deliver high quality output under time pressure
- Independent and meticulous with figures
- Strong written & oral communications skills in English.
- Strong problem solving & organization skills
- Experience in managing people and processes through a sustained period of change
- Excellent computer skills and competency in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
Education & Experience
- 5-7 Years of experience in Vessel Operation.
- Relevant experience in handling Oil tankers mainly Veg Oils.
- Minimum Education Qualification – Graduation.
- Sailing experience

- Experience working in a similar Shared Services Centre setup
- Experience in processing high volumes of transactions
- Experience in workflow tools and document imaging systems
- Strong customer service, communication skills/soft skills.
