A Day in the Life:
The primary function is to work with St. Louis and plant commercial managers around the position and risk management process.  The individual will also be used for daily functions around cash trading for both soybeans and soybean meal.


 

What You'll Be Doing:
•Consolidate and report changes to plant crush rates and yields on a weekly basis 
•Maintain various spreadsheets around inventory and cash positions for management
•Under minimal supervision, merchandise soybean and soybean meal to maximize profitability of trading activities
•Work closely with Commercial Managers and St. Louis trade teams to maintain and update futures positions
•Other activities as required
•Must be able and willing to work weekends and holidays when required
•Help grow Bunge's business with focus in developing smaller customers in our region.
•Conduct marketing, logistical space utilization and subsequent sale to customers.
•Monitor and own all aspects of the sale, logistics, chartering of vessels/containers and shipment, and post-sale and post-shipment follow-up, including resulting profit and loss.
•Provide market intelligence to Bunge's Global research and origination trading desks.
•Ability to respond to market dynamics such as spreads, futures, basis and freight changes vis a vis different origins. 
•Ensure compliance with Bunge's policies and procedures in the course of doing business.
•Leverage knowledge of current and future destination customer base to maximize cash trading opportunities.
•Actively communicate market data and relevant information to trading partners in Latin Region. 
•Manage cash and futures positions including spreads.

 


 

Skills/Experience 
•Bachelors degree in Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Business, Business, Finance or an applicable related field
•2 to 3 years of related experience in agriculture industry
•Demonstrated analytical aptitude and interest in agricultural marketing
•Working knowledge of cash commodity trading and the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT)
•Proficiency in applicable computer software packages as needed, including Word and Excel
•Good verbal and written communication skills
•Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle sensitive situations with tact and diplomacy
•Ability to prioritize, multitask and maintain flexibility in a fast-paced, changing environment
•Travel requirements 5 - 10%
