A Day in the Life:
The dry-bulks associate trader is responsible for assisting the traders in the commodity trading in the specific program and general commercial activities in Colombia & Ecuador region. Support the traders in the Dry-Bulk trading desk with administrative tasks, such as Freight operations, contract administration, logistic grids, P&L reports, commercial reports, etc.


 

What You'll Be Doing:
Help grow Bunge's commodity business in Colombia & Ecuador with focus in developing smaller customers in our region.
Conduct marketing, logistical space utilization and subsequent sale to customers.
Monitor and own all aspects of the sale, logistics, chartering of vessels/containers and shipment, and post-sale and post-shipment follow-up, including resulting profit and loss.
Preparation of the daily P&L and reviewing and analyzing the Company’s results and assisting with commodities trend analysis as required.
Provide market intelligence to Bunge's Global research and origination trading desks.
Ability to respond to market dynamics such as spreads, futures, basis and freight changes vis a vis different origins.
Ensure compliance with Bunge's policies and procedures in the course of doing business.
Leverage knowledge of current and future destination customer base to maximize cash trading opportunities.
Actively communicate market data and relevant information to trading partners in Latin Region.
Manage cash and futures positions including spreads.
Cultivates relationships with colleagues and stakeholders by fostering win-win situations and working to remove barriers to collaboration.
Develop a strong and profitable relationship with the assigned clients and external accounts and support the commercial teams in achieving the results
Maintain mutually beneficial and cooperative relationships with Bunge origins
Establish trustful and value-adding relations with BG Product Lines and Global Research.
Partner and work closely with the commercial teams fostering a results driven organization
Effectively direct and influence the activities or actions of others (peers and team)

Provide oversight of office operations and occasional administrative duties, as assigned

Perform other such duties as may be deemed necessary as the foregoing represents the general duties necessary to describe the principle functions of the job and shall not be deemed to be all of the work requirements which may be required of this position
 


 

Skills/Experience 
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting/Finance, Agricultural Economics or related field.
Commercial skills
2 years of business experience
Excellent customer management abilities and interest in understanding customers' business models and needs
Demonstrated analytical aptitude
Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to communicate trading strategies both internally and to customers
Leadership skills, willingness to learn and grow as a people’ manager
Strong attention to detail, quality and integrity.
Excellent organization and planning capabilities
Ability to lead across reporting lines/functions
Understanding of commodity trading, MTM rules, commodity cash and futures settlements practices and industry terms and exchanges (CBOT).
Understanding of ocean freight market.
Fluency in English and Spanish
