A Day in the Life:
Executes the facility operations strategy for the scheduling and contracting trucking for package loads, inbound supplies, bulk oils and ingredients. Manage inventory and freight in and out of outside warehousing facilities. The position coordinates with supply chain and bulk transportation on bulk shipments into and out of the packaging facility. Responsible for the scheduling of packaging trailers, yard management of drop trailers, and contract truck management for the timely delivery of customer orders.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Promote safety by driving a zero-incident culture ensuring the safety of employees, contractors, and visitors
- Ensure plant is compliant with all corporate policies and procedures.
- Be an effective safety leader engaging in Bunge Oils Safety discussions and initiatives
- Planning and execution of orders out of 3PL warehouses, maintaining inventories, proper inventory control and being the main contact for Bunge
- Communicate with Supply Chain and Customer Service Representatives as well as trucking firms and the railroad to coordinate inbound & outbound shipments
- Work with Supply Chain to manage oil logistics as well as assign carriers and freight rates with all inbound and outbound truck and rail shipments
- Produce shipping plan for next day shipments
- Arrange will-call of goods per schedule of customer
- Work closely with production scheduler to verify availability of products to limit shortages
- Recap prior shipments for tracking
- Compare and negotiate traffic rates up to preset cost limits. Work with corporate traffic management on carrier management
- Assist corporate Supply Chain and Transportation personnel to leverage Bunge’s transportation spend across multiple plants and business units to get the lowest possible freight cost while maintaining acceptable service levels
- Plan each order in SAP for Load out and inbound
- Proactively work with Account Managers, Customer Service Representatives, and plant personnel to prevent/reduce customer issues
- Addresses customer/carrier and One Weigh issues after-hours as needed
- Maintain records of Detention/Oil Delivery or loading issues and resolves disputes with carriers
- Analyze carrier rates and utilize best rates when possible.
- Enter Dispute and reverse shipments, as necessary, and communicate with Accounting
- File loss & damage claims with motor carriers, ensuring that claims are filed properly and timely in order to achieve the best likelihood of recovery, and follow up on claims to bring them to settlement within an acceptable period of time
- Process inbound and outbound paperwork
- Manage local purchase requisitions for indirect (non-bill of material products and services according to defined strategies and frameworks
- Execute local purchase requisitions
- Process requisition via purchase order or purchasing card
- Follow up on purchase orders
- Collaborate with local planning functions on production scheduled and MRP min/max levels
- Ensure all purchased materials and services are delivered on time to support a 24/7 plant operation
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skill/Experience Requirements:
- Completion of a post-secondary education in logistics discipline or equivalent work experience
- Three to five years experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain or related field required with Food and/or related experience preferred.
- Proven and demonstrated leadership and management skills within a team-oriented environment.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience processing transportation claims, dealing with customer issues, and negotiating traffic rates within preset cost limits.
- Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PP) SAP, and other technical software applications.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced changing environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively on teams with other managers both internal and external to the facility.
- Knowledge of truck loading, dunnage, strapping, bracing to prevent transportation damage.
- General familiarity with the statutes and regulations governing motor carrier transportation.
- Knowledge of transportation loss and claim procedures and regulations.
- Candidate must be friendly, collaborative, intelligent and hard working.

The compensation range for this position is $56,936.00-$64,053.00. In addition to the regular compensation, this role is also eligible for an annual incentive bonus.
