A Day In The Life:
Responsible for supporting the timely reporting, quality, and consistency of Bunge North America’s federal and state taxes in the United States.  Work involves income tax provision and Federal compliance, state income tax, state apportionment, and tax fixed asset reconciliations.  It involves managing of multiple projects and initiatives at once, building support and networking inside and outside Bunge.

 

What You'll Be Doing:
•    Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely income tax provision schedules and tax entries in accordance with ASC 740, including current and deferred reporting of income taxes for SEC purposes on a monthly basis
•    Assist with U.S. federal and state income and non-income tax compliance, including IC-DISC and joint ventures in which Bunge is the tax matters partner.
•    Prepare and analyze monthly OneStream account reconciliations to support income tax provision workpapers
•    Ensure processes associated with the compiling and presentation of information are well documented and meet the minimum requirements of SOX 404
•    Gather necessary documentation and prepare responses to financial statement auditor requests
•    Extract and summarize data from SAP systems necessary for accurate & timely income tax compliance filings
•    Prepare Federal and state estimated tax payment calculations and track cash tax payments
•    Perform initial review of informational reporting returns and low to mid complexity income tax returns, such as protective 1120-F, 1042, 1042-S, 5472, FBAR, 1120-POL, and 990-PF returns
•    Review and reconcile tax fixed asset reports and investigate variances
•    Preparation of state income tax sales and property apportionment schedules
•    Review and respond to various federal and state tax notices
•    Assist with gathering documentation and responding to various federal and state audits
•    Perform ad-hoc tax research and analysis to validate compliance with tax laws and document conclusions
•    Identify opportunities to automate tax information generated from SAP/HFM systems

 


Skills/Experience Requirements:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field, or comparable work experience
•    4-6 years of experience in a tax or financial accounting role
•    Public or private accounting experience
•    SAP data mining experience
•    Proficient in automating processes
•    Advanced/expert experience with Microsoft Excel
•    CPA desired, but not required
•    Working knowledge of federal and state income tax
•    Working knowledge of US GAAP financial statements and earnings guidance
•    Ability to analyze financial data and tax-related information and to summarize and present in clear and concise reports
•    Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents
•    Ability to execute tasks and follow-through to completion with appropriate documentation
•    Ability to handle changing priorities and consistent workloads
•    Comfort working individually and with little supervision as well as with interactions and fielding requests from other department/peers.
•    Effective verbal and written communication skills
•    Prior experience with OneSource Tax suite
