Position Title: Trader
Position Description: Responsible for the profitable growth of BNA’s core oils program to Latin America, nurture sustainable and collaborative relationship with customers and key stakeholders, develop a great team and support Operational Excellence to achieve the desired business results. Maintain direct contact with certain large key customers while coaching and mentoring an Associate Trader. Profitably grow BNA’s oil program. Put the customer needs at the forefront of the decision process by understanding their needs and removing barriers to great customer service. Analyze fundamentals of cash and futures markets and leverage BNA’s programs, identify trading strategies, explain rationale and risk / reward scenarios, manage BNA’s positions to maximize profit. Manage and actively optimize logistics (freight, contracts, and settlements) with attention to details using analytical and critical thinking. Communicate to all internal stakeholders to ensure clarity of own position / opinion, ensure access to information of all employees, and increase alignment of views across the organization. Regularly visit customers and commercial offices. Constantly identify new internal or external sources of growth, profitability, and competitiveness (internally in company structure, processes and modus-operandi, externally in its’ markets, customer needs, new geographies / products, etc.). Precisely and timeously report positions, profit and loss and all other administrative requirements. Cultivate relationships with colleagues and stakeholders by fostering win-win situations and working to remove barriers to collaboration. Develop a strong and profitable relationship with certain BNA large key accounts and support BNA’s Key Account Managers relationships with their customers. Maintain mutually beneficial and cooperative relationships with BG origins. Establish trustful and value-adding relations with BG Product Lines and Global Research. Effectively direct and influence the activities or actions of others (peers and other team members in the organization). Mentor and coach an Assistant Trader (more junior position). Up to 10% of domestic and international travel required for business needs Remote work is permissible up to 1 day per week following Bunge protocol; must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Bunge office in Coral Gables, FL.
Position Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, International Business, Economics or closely related field, and 4 years of experience as a Trader, Associate Trader, or similar occupation in the agribusiness industry. Additionally, a qualified applicant must have professional experience with the following: (1) Experience with direct commodity trading in the Latin America region, with specific focus on edible oils and oilseeds; (2) Experience with market dynamics and macroeconomics in the agribusiness industry; (3) Experience with commodity trading, MTM rules, commodity cash and futures settlements practices and industry terms and exchanges (CBOT); (4) Experience analyzing Supply and Demand grids and making edible oils and oilseed trading decisions based on fundamental inputs and drivers; (5) Experience with ocean freight trading, with a focus on vegetable oils trade lanes and an understanding of chartering terms; (6) Experience managing agricultural commodities or vegetable oils risk cash and futures position and calculating trading Profit and Losses; and (7) Experience with logistics planning and optimization in close coordination with ports, terminals, shippers, and buyers.
Foreign Language Requirement: Spanish; this role supports the Latin America region and our clients communicate with us via email or phone calls in Spanish on a daily basis, for that reason we require a fluent level.
