A Day in the Life:
This role is responsible for packaging/or loading proper product from the proper bins into the proper bags or bulk vessels for all packaging lines. Duties would include setting up, operating and maintaining the equipment such as packers, conveyors, sifters and palletizer, as well as setting, cleaning and adjusting code daters, sealers, bag turners and conveyor belts.
Position Details:
The Bulk Grits Loader is job classification CRE Loader, Bulk Grits and is assigned to second shift and paid $26.89 per hour (plus shift differential). Shift begins at 6 PM and ends at 2:30 AM. Health and welfare benefits begin on date of hire.

What You’ll Be Doing:
· Must be A-Packer qualified. Will perform A-Packer duties as allowed by seniority. · Will be trained to perform all the functions of the Bulk Grits and Bulk Hominy Loader. · Will replace Bulk Grits and/or Hominy loader for vacations, illness or other absences as needed. · Will be trained and utilized in the operations of the Trackmobile to move cars as needed during night shift operations. · Responsible for packaging/or loading the proper product from the proper bins into the proper bags or bulk vessels for all packaging lines. · Responsible for setting up, operating and maintaining the equipment such as packers, conveyors, sifters and palletizer. · Maintain proper weights. · Sets, cleans and adjusts code daters, sealers, bag turners and conveyor belts. · Records all data and sample products as instructed. · Maintains a clean work area. · Conducts visual quality checks on color, weight and appearance. · Conducts changeovers. · Ensures packaging material/bulk vessels meets specifications and meets company quality standards. · Inspects filled container to ensure that product is packaged/loaded according to specifications. · Performs minor adjustments or repairs and/or clears away damaged product containers. · Knows and understands capabilities of equipment as well as standards and proper set points (i.e., metal detectors, check weights, scales, etc.). · Able to work a shift, flexible work schedule and overtime when needed. · Other duties as assigned. |
Minimum Qualifications:
· Education/Experience: High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
· Must be able to proficiently verbally communicate, read, and write in English for the purposes of record keeping and quality training and processes.
· The capability to work in a team environment and maintain positive working relationships with other colleagues.
· The capability of working in varying climates and environments.
· Perform work in a manner that is in compliance with all policies and GMP rules. Report any conditions that may put product quality at risk.
· Perform work in a safety conscious manner that is in compliance with all policies and procedures.
· Report any conditions that pose a safety risk to personnel and/or property.
