A Day in the Life: 

Responsible for the safe and efficient supervision of day-to-day assigned Crush production operations department shift.  Support the Crush Production Manager in monitoring and improving plant productivity. 

 

 

 

What You’ll Be Doing:

  • Foster and promote a strong safety culture in which unsafe behaviors are not tolerated, and all employees and leaders share a commitment to achieving zero injuries.
  • Champion food safety by supporting a strong food safety culture, maintaining compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and driving continuous improvement of the site's Food Safety Management System.
  • Ensure compliance with sanitation standards and programs, providing support for sanitation inspections and the implementation of corrective actions as needed.
  • Monitor, track, and report key productivity metrics and operational performance improvements for the assigned shift.
  • Review and approve daily operating reports, Key Performance Results (KPRs), and other production documentation to ensure accuracy and accountability.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational challenges to minimize downtime and maximize production efficiency.
  • Provide operational input and support in the planning and execution of annual plant shutdowns and maintenance activities.
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) programs and initiatives where applicable, ensuring adherence to established safety and risk-management standards.
  • Partner with the Safety and Environmental Manager to ensure full compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements across the assigned shift.
  • Drive Operations Excellence initiatives that support safety, quality, productivity, and cost-performance objectives while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement efforts, serving as a change agent to successfully implement and sustain operational improvements.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and develop action plans to align shift performance with Operations Excellence goals and business objectives.
  • Participate in daily production and cross-functional meetings to maintain alignment on operational priorities, performance expectations, and plant objectives.
  • Assist with employee relations and personnel investigations, recommending and implementing appropriate corrective actions when necessary.
  • Demonstrate and promote company core values through teamwork, integrity, accountability, and a commitment to operational excellence.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects assigned to support plant and organizational objectives.

 

 

 

Skills/Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial engineering, manufacturing engineering, chemical engineering or related field or equivalent progressive experience of 5+ years in soybean crushing, oil refining, oil packaging operations, or related and applicable activities in support of industrial operations is required
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Lotus Notes, Microsoft Word and other technical software packages, as needed
  • Ability to work odd hours, weekends and rotating shift schedule required
