A Day in the Life:
The Plant Analyst provides key production information to management regarding inventory, budgets, and downtime to facilitate efficient resource allocation, optimize returns, and achieve production targets. The position monitors plant yield, and other key performance indicators (KPIs) to maintain optimal production levels and minimize waste. Responsible for generating reports, analyzing data, and collaborating with various departments to ensure accurate record-keeping, efficient operations, and data-driven decision-making. May also contribute to forecasting, budgeting, and continuous improvement initiatives.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Plan and report physical inventory observations (soybeans, seed, meal, and oil, bulk oils, chemicals, supplies) in accordance with BNA’s physical inventory policy and local standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and establish clean month end cut-offs with respect to inbound, outbound, and on-track inventory.
- Plan and perform other periodic inventories that support production planning and scheduling and ensure accurate data for customer service and supply chain management.
- Monitor production yields and shrinks and analyze and investigate significant variances from standards. Monitor rework and scrap inventory to ensure SAP records are correctly recorded.
- Collect and report daily, weekly, and monthly production data and KPR’s in an efficient, accurate, and timely manner to support monthly scorecard development.
- Assist the plant manager with inputs and preparation of the annual plant budget, understanding spending variances, and interpreting data.
- Local power user of SAP for plant specific functions.
- Coordinate the gathering of documentation requested by various internal/external audits, specifically regarding SOX narratives.
- Complete a variety of AP tasks including daily local cheque runs, EFT payments, and government levy calculations.
- Annual record retention archiving and offsite storage coordination.
Skills/Education Requirements:
- Post-secondary education preferred; high school diploma or equivalency is required.
- Prior work experience in customer service, both to internal and external stakeholders.
- 10 + years of related administration and/or accounting experience preferred.
- Experience or exposure to agribusiness activities and transactions preferred.
- Demonstrated problem solving experience and ability to react quickly and make decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
- Must have ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
- Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite skill
- Exposure to using enterprise business applications such as SAP GTM, SAP Business Warehouse, or comparable commodity applications is preferred.
- Effective mathematical, written and verbal communication skills are required.
