We are seeking a Grain Trading leader based in Kazakhstan, to help us chart this course across Eurasian and Chinese regions to drive our ambitious growth initiatives. This role is designed for a professional ready to lead this trading unit, optimize performance, and ensure the profitable and compliant execution of our comprehensive export programs. About the Role: Reporting directly to the Country Leader, this role is a key part of Bunge's global commercial function. You will leverage our expanded capabilities to deliver significant business growth, solidifying our existing market positions while spearheading new market penetration. You will lead and develop a dedicated team of 6 trading professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and strategic execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Export Leadership: Lead, develop, and execute Bunge’s end-to-end export program, from origination and trading strategies to meticulous contract execution. Apply deep knowledge of Bunge’s business, structure, and strategy to develop innovative solutions that improve results and address challenges.
  • Market Expansion & Diversification: Formulate and implement strategies to penetrate new markets, fortify our competitive position, and strategically diversify our product portfolio across Europe, Central Asia and China.
  • High-Stakes Negotiation: Champion negotiations to secure highly favorable agreements with diverse domestic and international partners.
  • Team Leadership & Development: Lead, mentor, and develop the Trade team, building partnerships and appropriately influencing to gain commitment. Foster talent and coach others to grow in their current and future roles.
  • Market Intelligence & Risk Management: Continuously monitor and analyze intricate global and local market trends, emerging opportunities, and potential risks, providing critical insights to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Driving Results & Change: Drive results through high standards, a sharp focus on key priorities, meticulous organization, and by preparing others for change within a dynamic market landscape.


Who We Are Seeking:

  • Expert Trading Acumen: A career in international trading with extensive experience in the logistical and regulatory complexities of trading across the named markets. While strong experience in agricultural commodities like grain, wheat, and barley is highly valued, we recognize that exceptional trading knowledge, experience, and leadership are paramount. Candidates with significant trading experience in other commodities, demonstrating transferable skills, are encouraged to apply.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong technical knowledge of agricultural commodity markets, export operations, global logistics, and international trade regulations.
  • Risk & Analytics Mastery: A comprehensive understanding of risk management principles, hedging strategies, and advanced market analysis tools.
  • Strategic Vision: Advanced analytical and strategic planning skills, with the ability to interpret complex market trends and translate them into actionable business strategies that drive growth and solve problems.
  • Influential Leadership: Proven ability to build partnerships, appropriately influence stakeholders to gain commitment, and lead cross-functional initiatives.
  • Educational Foundation: A university degree in Economics, Business, Trade, or a related field is required; a Master’s degree or MBA is strongly preferred.
