Junior Trader

Role Purpose Statement

Support the Grains Trading team in ensuring the efficient day-to-day execution of trading operations across the Iberian Peninsula. Provide commercial, logistics, operational, and reporting support, contributing to the optimization of customer service, asset utilization, supply chain coordination, risk management, and trading execution activities.

Main Accountabilities

• Commercial / Risk Management
• Support the management of customer relationships, logistics coordination, pricing activities, as well as sales and origination contracts.
• Support the logistics management of ports, warehouses, and the distribution of imported and export products, ensuring alignment with the broader Group and Value Chain strategy.
• Monitor customer credit exposure and support the management of customer risk and credit limits.
• Analysis / Reporting
• Facilitate alignment between the Commercial, Execution, and Supply Chain teams.
• Maintain and update market information received from internal and external sources.
• Monitor and report on surplus positions, customer coverage, and competitive market demand.
• Prepare and maintain operational and commercial reports to support Trading team decision-making.
• Logistics / Operations
• Support logistics coordination with ports and final customers.
• Coordinate pipeline planning with other Value Chains.
• Ensure accurate accounting and data entry within SAP and BBS systems.
• Act as a key SAP support resource, ensuring transactions, execution processes, and invoicing activities are completed accurately and on time.
• Facilitate effective communication across Trading, Logistics, Industrial, and Finance functions to ensure smooth operational execution.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field.
• Experience in commodity trading, logistics, supply chain, commercial operations, or a related environment.
• Experience working with SAP and business reporting systems.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Exposure to vegetable oils, biofuels, agricultural commodities, or trading environments is preferred.
• Fluent English required; additional languages are an advantage.
• Knowledge of commodity trading and supply chain operations.
• Understanding of risk management and customer credit processes.
• Experience with logistics and freight coordination.
• Strong reporting, analytical, and data management skills.
• SAP proficiency and ability to troubleshoot system-related issues.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel and reporting tools knowledge.
• Understanding of pricing, inventory management, and trading operations.
• Knowledge of refinery and crushing plant operational processes is desirable.
