PLANT PROJECT MANAGER (CAPEX)
Role Purpose
The Plant Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and execution of the plant’s development and investment (CAPEX) projects — from concept to implementation. The role ensures that technical, financial, and scheduling objectives are met, while maintaining compliance with all safety and quality standards. In addition, the Plant Project Manager contributes to discussions and planning of future project ideas together with the plant and departmental leadership.
This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.
Main Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate investment, development (CAPEX), and engineering projects at the Martfű plant.
- Plan, organize, schedule, and execute projects in alignment with company objectives.
- Coordinate internal project teams and external partners (engineering offices, contractors, suppliers).
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, request quotations, prepare financial forecasts, and ensure full project management oversight.
- Daily use of project management software tools.
- Provide technical support to the procurement department.
- Personally supervise on-site works and ensure adherence to project standards.
- Oversee the projects’ quality, environmental, safety, and time management compliance — ensuring all regulations, deadlines, and policies are followed.
Requirements
- University degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Food, or related field).
- Several years of relevant experience in engineering project management and industrial investments/construction.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale, high-value investment projects.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (e.g. PMBOK, CAPEX governance).
- Excellent technical and financial understanding, including cost estimation and scheduling.
- Native Hungarian and fluent English skills, both written and spoken.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Flexible and proactive attitude.
- Experience in a similar industrial environment (e.g. agro-industrial production, seed/oil processing, manufacturing) is a definite advantage.
